There is no rule that you have to celebrate your business anniversary alone. In fact, I see several examples of brand partnerships to celebrate anniversaries. An example is Taco Bell’s year-long collaboration with Los Angeles-based streetwear brand Born X Raised. The restaurant chain said the partnership “both symbolizes the brand’s Southern California-based heritage and represents what’s to come,” and includes exclusive merchandise, food, donations and in-house events. 

How to adapt this idea: You don’t have to go into as much detail about an anniversary as Taco Bell did to have a good time. You can run a co-marketing campaign with a related company or product, where you bundle your products at a discounted rate. Local companies can also use this strategy, such as a bookstore partnering with a cafe to sell books in-store to celebrate its anniversary. 

A lot can happen in a year. Amazon Smile, when it was still around, sent out an annual email outlining a person’s impact. The program allows people to donate cash back rewards while shopping on Amazon, so Amazon sends out an email each year that summarizes donations made in the previous period.
