How to Create a Unicorn Book But you can really use this tutorial to create a book on any subject – think a donut craft or even a monogram.

Using the scissors, cut out all the shapes: two ears, a horn, some leaves, and some flowers.

I simply gave my forms. But if you want a template that shows all the necessary shapes, leave me a comment below and I might be able to make it happen.

When cutting out the shapes, start by placing them on the front of the book – make sure the colors work together and that everything has a proportional size.

Add more dimension by combining colors – as with the leaves, I added a whimsical blue layer under the green to add more drama.

Well, keep it simple. As for the flowers, I didn’t go overboard with the details, instead, I just put in three wonky circular shapes. Also read: How to make flowers on video

I covered the entire book with a sheet of felt in this beautiful aqua shade. If you don’t have a sheet large enough to cover the entire book, you can use high-quality wrapping paper instead.

I had enough felt to cover the book, but the fold was very tight so I had to use some clamps to hold the felt in place for a few minutes until the glue set.

Once the book is covered and all the shapes are cut out, it’s time to assemble our unicorn book! Glue the ears and horns first. Then draw the gold details on the horn to add some dimension and shine! You can alternatively add glitter glue here too.

Add the flowers and leaves in place, layering them all up a bit. Draw the eyes with black fabric paint.

Dye your hair next time. I mean look how cute he is! This dimensional palette adds all the drama you need. I know I said you could use a highlighter instead, but don’t.
