Journal Design Ideas Drawing – Hello friend, I am very excited to share with you my bullet journal for this month. Although September is the beginning of autumn here in Florida, USA, I wanted to keep the theme a little different for this month, so I chose an abstract and botanical drawing theme for September in pastel colors.

Watch how I made this Bullet Journal video of Abstract and Botanical Drawings on my plan (or keep scrolling for a printable step-by-step photo guide):

I made worksheets for each month of the year where I show you five different ways to write each month with calligraphy and you can also find them here in the library for free.

Alright, let’s get started and I’m going to show you my abstract and botanical drawing bullet journal lineup for September.

As for the calendar, I don’t do traditional. I write dates and corresponding days of the week and write important dates in this vertical format.

Next to my Important Dates page, I usually make a To-do Master List, which is basically a mental plan of the month where I have to write down everything I’m going to do in the month.

Moving on, I’ll make my goal page. I find it easier to stay on track when I write down the goals I want to achieve for the month.

On the Social Media Growth page, I like to record the numbers for the social media accounts I’m focusing on. Things like where I start and where I finish, goals I have, and things I notice or can improve.

Gratitude is very important! Being grateful for what we have helps us appreciate everything, no matter how small! So I want to record one thing a day that I am grateful for.

For my weekly spread, I always like to start by noting the current week we’re in. Then I write down my focus for the week, which is one thing I want to accomplish this week.

I like to start my week on Monday instead of Sunday, and leave less space for weekends because I like to go with the flow and I don’t have a superstructure weekend.

I hope you like this set of themes and it gives you some inspiration to create your own bullet journal! If you make it again, be sure to tag me @ @

The best way to combat the fear of the first page is to be prepared. It’s much easier to just jump into it if you know what you want to draw on the page and have your inspiration and all the materials.

While this post is part of my Bullet Journaling for Beginners series, these ideas can really work for any journal, whether it’s your first or fifth.

When I think about the front page of my journal, I know what I want. I want it to basically reflect what is in the journal. I think just writing about the current year is quite telling.

If you plan to start it in the middle of the year, you can always write two years. If it’s your second notebook this year – just add the second part.

I find this to be the most useful front of the Bullet Journal and will be a great help in organizing my journals in the future.

I also think that’s the idea of neutral too – it doesn’t define the whole style of the magazine. It only states the date.

My Inner Creative

I love this idea from Nicole. It’s a fun way to make the years stand out by overlapping the years in different fonts.

As you can see, for 2021 I decided to decorate the page with the year by adding tons of pops of color and some geometric shapes.

If you decide to do something similar in your Bullet Journal, you can do it in a more aesthetic way by using muted colors or shades of gray.

The black gold highlights are something I’m really obsessed with and I definitely recommend using the gold acrylic pen for this (be sure to use code MASHA10 for 10% off).

I absolutely love this amazing cover and how the artist actually combines my idea of the year with my next quote idea.

Who doesn’t love a good quote?! Find one that motivates you and start your new designer life with it!

This is a beautiful example of fantastic lettering and floral designs. And it’s a fun idea, if it’s easier for you to do things digitally, draw it on your iPad, print it and add it to your Bullet Journal.

I’m usually better on paper, but if you’re the opposite, this might be a fun idea to try.

It was very interesting when I received my first Archer and Olive Kraft Journal, so of course I had to start by creating a quote page.

This is something I always say, and for me it’s kind of a big motivation to keep using BuJo. This is basically a reminder of what happens to me when I don’t use it anymore.

Affirmations are very powerful, especially if you write them down. So think of something you struggle with and write a positive affirmation about it.

It is very therapeutic to draw one, and maybe just what you need when dealing with your fear of the first page.

Another advantage of drawing a mandala – it really doesn’t have to be done in one sitting. So you really don’t have to worry about how it’s done quickly. You can make it an annual project and do it piece by piece every day you feel like it.

I love how she chose not to use just one mandala, but to add many smaller ones. It must be hard to get such an intense black, but doesn’t it look absolutely amazing?

This beautiful Mandala is an example of what you can do on your first page. Technically this is a coloring page, but it could work as a cover for sure!

Easy Drawings For Art Journal Covers = A Great Gift Idea!

A very interesting practice I discovered when I started Bullet Journaling is to choose a word as the word of the year. This means – choose one word that describes what you want to become and achieve by the end of the year.

It is good practice to have some sort of direction to follow throughout the year. For example, in 2019 my word was

I’m working on my blog, I’m going to take courses and besides – I have several new projects in mind. Therefore my main goal and direction for this year is to succeed in my efforts.

This is my word of the year 2021, as you can see I decided to add something more to it by adding the meaning of the word.

Easy Fall Doodles Ideas

I think this is a good thing because each word can have so many meanings for each person, so it can be more effective to write how exactly you want to interpret that word.

Another great way to decorate your worksheet of the year is to repeat a word and basically create a pattern from the word.

The image above shows perfectly how such an approach can look fresh and stylish. You can use colors or just fill in some words with patterns to add some sparkle.

The way to decorate this spread is
