The other big change was the black partition which I have little control over. I was going to make a boxwood hedge there (cheated of course) but that also seemed like a lot of work and I have zero tools except a hammer.
So instead I painted the same Valspar Royal Navy that is my bedroom wall. I went with a flat finish in an exterior paint formula to stand up to the weather and the metal material. Although it’s a subtle color change, it was the color this space really needed. Besides, the black bank now shoots much better than the black on black.

The patio of my apartment had no outdoor lighting. Zero. Not even a plug! I had to get creative here. So I ended up going with something that isn’t an outdoor chandelier, but is easy to remove in inclement weather (plus it’s a covered patio and rarely gets this ugly).
I hung it by gluing these hooks to the ceiling with Gorilla Glue. I just keep the extension cord in a basket by my couch to grab when I want to plug it in. It’s such a no-brainer and was the lighting I desperately needed to use this space after sunset.
