House Design Ideas Drawing – I still have at least a full day to grind. Maybe even two. So instead of dragging this thread out with more “progress” posts (because let’s face it, you just want to see the finished floor, right? 😉 ), I decided to move on to another thread.
Everyone, I have been agonizing over my house plan for days. Every spare moment I could find was spent setting this up, moving that wall, arranging this that way, moving that door from here to there, etc. I have carefully considered each of your suggestions and taken them into consideration. Then I go into the house, stand inside, walk around, take more measurements, think and let the house “talk” to me. (That sounds funny, doesn’t it? Make the house”

“A big book? But I swear, it feels exactly like that.) Then I went home and looked at Houzz for inspiration.
Modern Design And…
Here’s a quick look at both floor plans. Just hover over the photo to see the before and after.
Here are the biggest changes from my original plan and two or three interim plans:
The more I thought about it (especially after re-reading all the comments about the restaurant on the A2D Facebook page), the more I realized that the formal dining room was a waste of space. If I need to entertain more than six people (a number that fits the Craigslist table I use in the breakfast room), I’ll have plenty of room to fit a large makeshift table. But the rest of the time, I want this space to be a place we use regularly.
In one of the improvised plans, I replaced the large window in the living room with French doors that led to a sort of front porch. But some of you pointed out that we may never use this space.

The more I think about it, the more I realize how true this is. Unfortunately, we’re not really
Society is no more. So instead of investing money in building something like this out front, I’d rather spend the money building a nice backyard with a deck or two outside the house, including one in the breakfast room. The front porch will simply extend as needed to allow Matt to get in and out of the house easily and safely.
One of the biggest issues I have with the first floor plan and staging is the location of the utility room and mud room. They seemed too far away, and the location of the mudroom actually required an additional half bath. It would cost a fortune because the new pipes would have to be run on the side of the house that has all concrete foundations instead of columns and beams.
So in the new location it puts the utility room closer to our bedroom (which makes sense to me) and creates a more direct route from the backyard through the toilet to the existing bathroom. No expensive add-ons required.
Sanibel House Plan
What I’m most excited to start working on is the entryway and creating some definition between the entryway, the living room, and what was originally the dining room.
Now it’s all a big open space. I know a lot of people like big open floor plans. no idea I prefer the definition between spaces. But let me emphasize, I don’t want it to feel closed, just defined.
I love everything about this entry, from the color of the hardwood floors (I really hope my floors end up being a similar color to this), the board and batten walls, the simple skirting and trim around the door, the front door, and the wall color .
Of course, my entryway was going to be wider and longer, and instead of a standard width door to the right of the entryway, I wanted a very large opening to the living room.

For at least two months, I imagined in my mind what the space from the entrance to the living room would look like. I wanted the door to be very large, very open and include a multi-paned window on each side of the opening. you know…
For at least two months I have been racking my brain over what to call these windows and what windows I should order.
I almost gave up and started collecting other ideas. In fact, just yesterday while watching the latest episode of Secret Affairs, I took a screenshot of a half wall design that I thought might work.
It’s nice and I really like it, but it’s disappointing to choose a design like this after looking at another design for so long.
Beautiful House Design Ideas…
But I don’t know what these built-in windows are called, so if I don’t know what they’re called, how on earth do I find them? !
Last night when I clicked on a link on Facebook I saw a great before and after living room that Jennifer Rizzo posted and my heart skipped a beat when I saw this photo. This is almost exactly the look I wanted to create!
So I frantically searched for this article wondering where in the world she found these amazing windows and what exactly were they called? What does she use to achieve this look?
. 😀 Seriously, all I could do was sit there and laugh at myself. I know sometimes I tend to make things more complicated than they need to be, but this has to be one of my most “silly” moments.

So I went to the Home Depot website and found exactly what I needed – this bi-folding French door.
I don’t know what size I need right now, but it comes in different sizes. I am now considering purchasing a 30″ door which will give me two 15″ panels. But I had to measure everything to see if this size would work.
There it is. My completely stupid “brain fart” incident was trying to figure out the name of the fixed French door style windows in the interior. 😀 *sigh* Awkward but fun.

I would like to say that I am very impressed with the patterns that Isha and Abdul showed us in the Shalleck_KLein project. Excellent indeed!
All the drawings received were worth the money. Initially, the drawings for the MSGCU project required some modifications, but the end result was satisfactory.

Thank you for your excellent service and I look forward to working with your team on more projects.
It is a pleasure to work with BluEnt and all members of your team. All the drawings I received were very detailed and I appreciate the thought and effort that went into our drawings. Other companies I’ve worked with just “copy and paste” the blueprints, but that doesn’t work. Your team goes the extra mile to revise and update the drawings to reflect the actual working product and represent the product to be manufactured. Thank you all for your hard work on Terlin Construction and our millwork shop drawings.
You all did a great job, thank you. We couldn’t be happier with the results of everything you provided. Thank you again for being patient with our request and providing such a great product.
