A few weeks ago I posted about using photos from your phone for handwriting pen projects. Today you will learn how to create your own images. Using My Stuff And Collections In Design Space

When you log into your Cricut Design Space account and want to start or edit a new project, you do it all in a window called CANVAS.

There are so many buttons, options, and things to do that you can feel lost. Don’t worry; I will be here along the way cheering you on and encouraging you to keep going.

Design Space mainly touches your projects and creates minimal designs with shapes and fonts. On the other hand, if you have experience demoing any Adobe Creative Cloud or Inkscape application. You can see that this program is simple.

If you want something more sophisticated, you’ll need custom templates or Cricut Access. It’s a membership that gives you access to their super huge library. Learn more in this tutorial I put together.

Note: If you’re still learning what a Cricut is and what you should get, I recommend reading this post where I walk you through 50+ questions before and after getting a Cricut. I spent several hours of research and an entire week putting together this awesome guide and will update it as Cricut releases new cool stuff.

The top panel of the Design Space Canvas area is intended for editing and arranging elements on the canvas. You can choose what type of font to use, change the size, align the designs and more.

This panel is divided into two subpanels. The first allows you to navigate through the design space, save, name and finally cut projects. The second allows you to manage and edit things in the canvas area.

This subpanel allows you to navigate from the canvas to your profile and projects and submit completed projects for cutting.

When you first launch Design Space, “Home” is the interface you’re in. On this screen, Cricut will show you different projects you might want to do, such as sales.

All projects start with *Untitled. You can name the project from the canvas area only after placing at least one element (image, shape, etc.).

After saving the project, the project name becomes interactive and the project information window appears.

How Do I Share My Design Space Project?

Go ahead and click on the options to explore all the save options and find your project later.

The (…) icon allows you to open another Design Space window and work on another project at the same time. You can learn more about the program by clicking on additional settings.

Cricut is a community, and if you choose to share your projects with people, you’ll get notifications when someone follows, likes, or shares a project they were inspired by.

When you click on this drop-down menu, a small window will open. However, since it’s not part of Canvaa, I won’t go into detail.

How To Make Stickers With Cricut: Crafting Made Easy

You can do other valuable and technical things from this menu, such as calibrating your machine and blades and updating the machine’s firmware (software).

Note: You can change the visibility and dimensions of the canvas in the Settings option. this is better explained at the end of this tutorial when I explain everything about the Canvas area.

This option is activated when you place one element on the canvas. Even though the Cricut has autosave, sometimes you can lose some of your hard work; I recommend saving your project on the go.

When you click on “My Items” you’ll be taken to a library of things you’ve already created. This is great because sometimes you might want to cut a previously created project. So you don’t have to create the same project over and over again.
