Diwali Decoration Ideas For Table

Diwali Decoration Ideas For Table – This year’s Diwali party theme was inspired by a jharokha wall niche decor idea I saw on insta. I created a Moroccan style dinner setting a few years ago and reused it in this theme. Add my Moroccan food post to your reference.

For this theme we have made 4 sections – Haveli with curtain lights wall decoration, jharojha wall, entry table decoration and Dining table decoration. I will go through each of these parts in detail.

We added curtain lights on the three walls surrounding the Dining Room. We then added faux carnations to the ribbon and hung them with command string.

Now we added these lanterns that I got from the world market with a string of yarn alternating. We cut the cellophane foil sheets into jharokha shapes and added a glitter sheet frame. we didn’t use any stencils, we just made a template and cut everything else with the Excecto knife using that template.

For this wall, we used cake boxes and turned over to one side and cut the bottom of the box into the shape of the jharokha opening.

Now add the yellow cardboard to the inside of the box and the printed block print on the yellow sheet.

A friend of mine had a beautiful marble entryway table and dining table made by a local stone manufacturer, and I wanted to enhance the look of the marble on site. I wanted to add a color theme that highlighted the beautiful marble, so I chose white and yellow with marigolds and jasmine strands. I hung marigolds and jasmines on the walls and added candle decorations and a huge antique vase that I made with a dirty effect. you can check out my dirty vase post here. You can find all marigold garlands, jasmine garlands and lotus curtains in my Amazon store –

The jasmine bouquet I used in the vase was from Pier One Imports, but they are out of stock. I combined similar flowers I got from Amazon and other items I used to decorate the entryway.

For the decoration of the dining table, I used a large lotus urli bowl in the middle and placed small urlis with candlesticks on the side. I used colorful Moroccan tea glasses as candle holders.

I got my lotus urli bowl from the Ross Store a few years ago. I have linked these products here from amazon.in and etsy. The table leg I used is from my shop. As a child, Diwali preparation in our family started several weeks before the actual festival. The atmosphere inside the house and in the city market would increase at the same time. People are naturally motivated to make memories by decorating your home inside and out. However, for those of us outside India, it may be a little different.

Outside of India, most of the population does not celebrate Diwali. There is not much excitement about Diwali outside our home or in the markets. Nevertheless, we do our best to transfer and transmit our cultural traditions to our children. We want them to have the same childhood memories as us.

Every Diwali, I try to evoke all the decorations, lights and bonfires in the kids. Now they look forward to it every year. Even if your busy schedule doesn’t allow time to implement all the ideas presented here, do what you can. Something is better than doing nothing. I’m sharing ideas for my home Diwali decorations, which you can use as a whole or in pieces that suit you.

Diwali is the festival of lights. The Decorative Lighting outside is my husband’s responsibility and he really enhances it and catches the attention of everyone in the neighborhood. The photos don’t do the effort justice, but the overall effect of the lighting was breathtaking.

He used professional installers for ceiling lights that cost about $500. He could do the rest of the lighting himself, as it can be reached safely with a standard ladder. He used programmable LED rope lights for the ramps and circles around the lamp post. He decided to go with mesh-style LED lights for tree trunks, house posts and large planters. A regular LED indicator was used to create a pyramid around the lamp post.

The kids wanted to help with the Diwali decorations, making it a family project. The toddler drove spikes into the light strings, while the middle schooler gave his ideas and passed tools to his father on a ladder.

Be sure to use proper GFCI-protected circuits to power the lights and follow electrical hazard precautions when installing the lights.

In Indian tradition, the main door has a special meaning. Many Indian traditions revolve around decorating and performing various ceremonies at the entrance of a home or pooja room. Same goes for Diwali decorations.

On my last visit to India. These are some of the usual few things I get from India every time I visit. Diya refers to a clay lamp used in the Indian subcontinent. Today, you can buy decorative diyas at Indian grocery stores in almost every major city in the United States. They are also available on Amazon if you don’t have time to visit your local store.

After much research, I decided to use artificial flowers I found on Amazon. I was satisfied with the overall quality, feel and appearance of the flowers. I also used fresh flowers from my garden and from the local shop. The lamps were purchased from Pier1 Imports.

You have the option to make Rangoli with both colors and flowers. Since I have a toddler, powder colors didn’t seem like a good idea. So I chose a simple design that can be made quickly in 10-15 minutes using a combination of natural and artificial flowers.

Did you notice the url before Rangoli? Urli, a brass tray for holding floating candles and flowers, brings a new dimension to any festive or ethnic decor. It breathes life into a static interior by making it dynamic with floating candles and flowers.

Next is the entrance hall, which is the first look every visitor will have at your home. It creates a first impression and anticipation to see what else is out there. It should convey the festive atmosphere of your home and at the same time create the desire to enter and immerse yourself in the festive atmosphere. The interior of the hall shown here uses a central Ganesh idol seated on a bearded medallion table stand surrounded by brass objects and decorative candlesticks.

I used my existing bracelets as candle holders, which are inexpensive and a great way to add an Indian touch to your decor. I have a large collection of bracelets so I borrowed some from here to decorate the tea lights.

Lanto gifted us an idol of Ganesh. Here I used copper trays as urls. If you want to add urlis as a decoration, you don’t need to buy it or use a copper bowl. You can use any flat bowl to create the same effect.

In the above picture I have used Kunda rangoli for floor decorations. Alternatively, you can use a Rangoli design like the one below. In my case, with a walking toddler, it only took a few hours.

Inside the house, you can add small decorations in different places to change the overall look and feel of your home and make it more festive. For example, I added candles and flowers to my coffee table in the living room.

Table Set Up

You can easily tell that I am a big fan of Pier1 Imports. Most of the products in this decor come from that store. Whether you’re looking at the table runner or the trays and candles, all of the items are from Pier1 Imports, which I’ve collected over time. I keep moving them around the house to create new decorations with different combinations.

I have a good collection of runners and trays. They are my weakness. So when I see a good designer piece, I buy it for future use. The trays provide a defined space and draw point, allowing me to focus on the limited space. Runners add new texture to the space and help to bring color contrast and further improve other interior elements. I also used Kunda rangolis as a filler in between the space to give it an ethnic touch.

Another example is the fireplace decorations, which are usually the focal point of the living room
