Diwali Decoration Ideas For Kids – Redecorating our home is the big goal and if you are looking for new ideas to decorate your home with simple crafts made by hand by your little ones, read on.

I am delegating simple and easy tasks to Vir. While there are several Diwali craft ideas for preschoolers and older kids, I’ve selected some of our favorite craft activities that we’re working on this year. I started looking into some craft kits and stores as well to get pre-made kits. And that saved me a lot of time. I love supporting small businesses and I encourage you all to do your part to help them this time of year as well.

Diwali Decoration Ideas For Kids

There is no gift more precious than something handmade, right? We are teaching our son how to make personalized ones for each family member that can be mailed to families around the world. I loved the artwork of Pavni Kapoor of PKK DESIGNS and she was kind enough to customize a Diwali Rangoli design card for my readers. Vir loved coloring it and adding some jewels and stickers to dress it up. You can download it HERE.

Diwali Party For Kids

We ordered some earthen diyas online (you can also find it in Indian stores) and used acrylic paint to paint the diyas. When they are completely dry, add different colors, jewels or use markers to make patterns. Vir loved making them and was very proud to see how they turned out.

In addition to working on the paint and color, we really wanted to make some decorative pieces for the house. I found this cute set of foam crafts from Etsy and loved how they turned out.

I can’t imagine decorating Diwali without some kandils at home. This cute kit from the Etsy shop was the perfect craft for me, honestly. I really enjoyed making the kandils and decorating them. You must supervise young children with this craft.

Last year we celebrated Diwali in Delhi, India and Vir helped me make a floral rangoli at my in-laws’ houses. This year we are also making a floral rangoli and I can’t wait to share it very soon on my Instagram.

You can also give it a twist and make yogurt shells instead of chocolate, use mango yogurt, strawberry yogurt, or any other flavor and add the same ingredients.
