In fact, “the busier the better,” says Smith. “If you have plain, crisp white walls, what makes them different from a closet?” Instead, she suggests adding coziness with striped wallpaper that expands the space or floral wallpaper throughout the room. Smith also recommends using lamps instead of lamps and leaving room for side tables, although a simple carrying shelf will also do. Because “all you need is a place for water and a phone.”
