Creating an exhibition wall or adding a large piece of art is a great way to fill an empty corner. It can add a lot of character to your room! Choose from a collection of your favorite activities, family photos or mix and match and create a gallery that reflects your style. You can set them in different sizes or colors and don’t be afraid to mix and match picture frames. If you don’t like the look of the wall, large pieces of art are a great alternative. Don’t be afraid to fill a good part of the wall. Bigger is often better when it comes to word art!
Turning the corner into a comfortable reading nook can be a great way to create a cozy atmosphere in your room. Choose a comfortable chair, add a small table or console table, and add a basket and a rug nearby. We added a reading book like this to our Lakeside room and our guests love it. For this one, we used an egg-style outdoor chair from Walmart paired with an air-conditioning table from IKEA. With a DIY outfit to complete the look, it’s practical and stylish! A good reading nook can also be a home office if you can find a table that can slide out next to the desk. Doesn’t that sound like a great job?!
Picture frames are a great way to add visual interest to a dull frame in your room. These bags can be used to display artwork, or you can use them to carry books or small items. I like the IKEA MOSSLANDA pictures because they are not as deep as the usual ones that make up a good idea for a small space. It can also be a practical solution. We used some from my brother’s room to hide the thermostat behind some art!
Adding greenery to your room is a great way to bring in nature and create a fresh and healthy atmosphere. A tall plant in a decorative pot can be a great addition to a corner, or you can create a small indoor garden on a table or bench. I always recommend live plants if you have the time and space for them. However, there are some great artificial plants on the market like these olive trees. Be it real or fake – adding greenery to your space will always make it look better.

A small corner fireplace can be a great addition to your living room. And for this living room idea, you don’t need to do a major renovation! There are many good electric heaters on the market that are built specifically for corners. We put a small electric fireplace that looks like an old stove in the corner of our Tiny Lake House room. It acts as an air conditioner and adds perspective to the room.
If you have children with a lot of toys or if you just want more storage space, adding a closet to the storage room is a great solution. I did this with two different IKEA cabinets – the PAX wardrobe and the HAVSTA cabinet. Each one can be easily attached to the corner wall and make that space very free. This is how you can store anything and everything in tins. Both have the potential to create bookcases, and I find that closed cabinets look better than open shelves.
