Modern Kitchen Design Ideas Corner – Kitchen design has its challenges, such as what to do with that wasted corner space! There are a few ways to design a corner cabinet in the kitchen, but not all are the same. Here are some corner cabinet ideas to consider when remodeling your kitchen.

My favorite feature, however, was our corner storage cabinet. Instead of choosing a traditional lazy Susan for our corner cabinet, I had our cabinet maker make the corner drawers. I’ll share more details about this option later, but for now, here’s a typical corner cabinet idea for a kitchen remodel!

These two options are enough and some even choose them, but I find that most people are not big fans.
Lazy Susans are notorious for twisting unruly items and throwing them away, or worse, sending them to niches in the back of the cupboard, never to be found again.

And vertical shelves are notoriously inconvenient, as you have to constantly move things around to get to them. This wastes space because the cabinets are deep and the back is hard to reach.
However, there are many new options available that are even better than traditional rotating or vertical designs!
But what I want to talk about today is the corner drawer solution! This is what I chose for my white kitchen cabinets and I will do it again and again!
We chose shaker kitchen cabinets from a design point of view, but a corner cabinet with drawers works as a solution regardless of which cabinet face style you choose.

Our cabinet maker designed our corner cabinet with drawers to have two deep drawers and one shallow drawer to match the size of the top drawers around the perimeter of the kitchen. This top drawer is perfect for large tools.
The drawers are very deep, so they fit everything you need for cooking and cooking utensils in one place. I organized them into three simple bins.
The bottom two drawers are deep. They carry our children’s dishes and large items such as water bottles. But really, they can handle anything you want! They are deep enough for pots and pans, bowls, serving plates or anything else you want to store.
As you can see, they are designed as if there are two drawers in the front, but when you take them out, it’s one big drawer. So cabinet hardware is 50% design and 50% function. You can find our cabinet hardware at Signature Hardware. We loved how they stayed with great quality.
Get Creative With These Corner Kitchen Cabinet Ideas!
There are a few things to keep in mind if you decide that you want to include corner drawers in your kitchen design.
First, corner drawers are probably one of the more expensive options for corner cabinet ideas. They are more difficult to make than other corner cabinet options and the cost is reflected in this level of craftsmanship.
Second, if they are not made properly, they can be difficult to open and close. Because they are such a unique construction, if the cabinet maker misses the surface of everything, they can come out of the way and cause drawer sliding problems. We’ve had our cabinets for over two years and never had a problem with them. However, this was something we were warned about by our contractor and cabinet maker.
Third, there will be dead space built into the design. Since the corner drawers are back-to-back, there is dead space on the sides of each drawer. Personally, I find that their performance outweighs the 4-5 inches of lost storage space. But it’s something to keep in mind if you want every last inch!

So far we’ve talked about lower corner cabinet ideas, but what about upper corners? Obviously, the drawers will look very strange if they are placed in the upper corner. So it’s out!

I love how open and airy the corner shelves are, and they’re still functional storage. We use our open shelves for our daily meals and beautiful decorations.

Small Kitchen Design Hacks To Make A Room Seem Bigger
One last design factor to consider when installing a sink is the location of the dishwasher.
If you are adding a sink, make sure your dishwasher is not right next to the cabinets at the base of the sink.
We have a narrow, vertical tray cabinet that gives me plenty of room to maneuver when the dishwasher is on.
If you put the dishwasher too close to the corner sink, you won’t be able to move it properly.

For a kitchen design with a 36″ cabinet front, you should choose a 17″ sink front.
If you have a 42-inch corner cabinet base, you can run up to a 24-inch corner sink.
If you want a large sink, you will need to consider it when choosing the size of your cabinets.
Not only do you need to decide how wide the cabinet is, but you also need to measure to make sure you have enough cabinet space for your sink.

There are options for small kitchens that don’t offer a large cabinet base. You should choose a deep sink to make sure you have enough cabinet space to store things like cleaning supplies or large pots.
If you don’t have a window, you can add open shelves for things you may need next to them.
