Initial design ideas – Create a series of quickly sketched ideas based on the mechanics around the workshop and online research. Add colors and letters to enhance these drawings. Sketch four ideas for your injection molding tool. (You can also use pictures of your models instead of drawings.) Separate them whenever possible. Use glass, wire, glue, strong springs, weights, etc. to create different ideas, but include the idea you are making as one of the four. After you have created the models, take pictures and add them to the page. Try to mark five parts of each design. For example, handles, pivots, bases, levers, side plates, washers, screws, springs, etc. Does the component need to be designed, purchased or manufactured using a CADCAM system (CNC engraving, CNC milling or laser cutting)?
