I remember the feeling I saw many years ago with my new Cricut machine. It was sitting in its box and I was tempted to open it but I was scared and afraid of failing my projects and I wish I had asked for another gift. I already feel bad about what to say when I’m asked how my Cricut machine feels and I have to reveal that it’s still hidden in its box.

I wish I had just started and realized that I would learn right off the bat of any Cricut projects I tried. I’m not going to lie, I’ve had a few failures along the way, but they’re a minuscule percentage compared to all the Cricut projects that come out the way I want them to.
One of the things I wish I had when I first took my Cricut out of the box was the foresight to know what types of projects would be best to start with. The kind of easy Cricut tutorial that a Cricut newbie like me can get. That’s what I hope to do with this post.
If you haven’t gotten a Cricut machine but are thinking about getting one for yourself, really do! You’ll be just as crazy as every other Cricut-er in the universe! The “best” Cricut machine really depends on what you intend to primarily use it for.
Step 1: First things first…open the box! I promise it won’t bite you or judge you for your lack of experience. I learned some of my best techniques and made my favorite projects through happy mistakes.

Iron-on (also known as HTV or heat transfer vinyl) is such a fun way to customize many things. You can iron on wood, cork, cardstock, felt, shoes, socks, napkins, pillows, of course clothes and much more.
