Decoration Ideas Birthday Party At Home – Sharing my best tips for decorating an inexpensive kid’s birthday party at home (that still looks modern and awesome!).

With four kids, we’ve hosted many birthday parties over the years. We organized a children’s party and to be honest, I really enjoyed it. As I share some of our kids’ birthday party themes, I get the same questions over and over again in the DMs, and I thought I’d put together a post on the top three tips I share over and over again.

We use these same materials for almost every party we host to create a modern kids event on a budget.

Almost all our parties are at home. Until last year, our kids enjoyed having their friends over for their birthday party and choosing a theme to decorate the party.

Last year my daughter wanted to have a party at our local pool and we were looking for a hotel just like we would our own house so these tips are perfect for home but can be used for other places. !

I love throwing birthday parties for my kids – it’s completely customized to their interests, it’s a treat for their friends and it helps me save more money than paying for food sent to me.

I also enjoy being creative and energetic with my children. It was a special time we spent together, thinking and hearing more about what they loved as we dreamed up their party ideas together. I recommend making time for this! I do this when we decorate their bedroom too!

Here’s the thing, I like the session. I love having children’s parties at our house. If you don’t like birthday parties…that’s okay too. You don’t have to do things my way. Even if they’re not your favorite, you’re welcome – these tips will help make things easier and cheaper 🙂

I am against essays. I don’t know what it is, but I want to be creative and I don’t want to fit into a cartoon or something like that. As my kids got older, our theme got better and better because… that’s what they love! And their party should be about what they love!

And besides making your kids happy… stories can help you make decorating decisions easier. If you don’t need a perfect theme, choosing a few colors or elements for your theme can also help.

After choosing a theme, pick some colors to work with. I like to start with black and white to keep the theme fresh, then add some color to it. Starting with black and white can quickly organize and freshen up almost anything.

You can choose your other colors in two ways. Choose from whatever you can get your hands on or from the subject. For example, a Pokemon birthday party theme for kids calls for red as your accent color. And the LEGO birthday party theme is called Yellow.

What if you have multiple options from your topic? Check out what you can get for the devices. For example, for this ice cream birthday party, I wanted to make a soccer ball ice cream cone backdrop. I chose the colors of the balls I had and ran with those colors as the party color theme.

Now that you have a theme and color, whether you’re brainstorming ideas or finding fun decorations, you can choose what you want and color it for the perfect look for your party!

When I started hosting and decorating for baby showers and bridal showers while in college, I started drawing blanks. My friends and I are busy decorating every room the guests go to. For entrance, for entrance, living room, kitchen, table,

But when it’s a lot of work and you sprinkle a little everywhere, it won’t be effective if you focus on one place or even one table. Normally, I like to put all the decorations in my dining room on the dinner table.

I’d also add something to the front door… but that’s really the case unless there’s an event in other rooms that serves as decoration (balloons meant for the Nerf team, for example).

For a party table, you can decorate the table on the wall or behind the table. If your arrangement doesn’t call for a dinner table, a backdrop can also work for guests to take pictures. I want to photograph my birthday child in front of this arrangement as a special picture to put in our photo book to remind us how they saw that important moment and what they saw in their ‘eyes (the subject of consumption).

There are a few supplies that I find that I use over and over again for any party. These kits are affordable and work for almost any kid’s birthday party theme.

We better talk about these things. Balloons are the obvious type, but I’m going to blow them up with helium to surround the party table and that’s the extent of my balloon usage. You can do it whole (I love the big foil numbers!) or you can blow them up yourself to save money.

I bought a balloon pump on Amazon a few years ago and it worked great for us. You can fly balloons for balloon arch in less time and protect yourself from fire.

This baby pays for itself and I even pack it for whoever’s house (or dorm) I’m going to to set up for a bachelorette party or something like that. Instead of trying to load 50 balloons with molds collect balloons and pop them and spray them!

Organized balloons and balloon garlands are easy big impact decorations. You can get packages of customized balloons on Amazon in any color scheme or theme, and you can easily blow them up and attach them to balloon garland tape. I usually pick my own colors with the kids and we get them at the local dollar store.

A piece of balloon tape costs less than $5 and can be used for years. It’s actually a plastic ribbon threaded through a hole to pop the balloon tile. It’s easy to use and you can cut the balloons when you’re done and save them for your next party. You can add some fun to your balloon necklace. Think honeycomb or paper supporters or feather boas and star-shaped balloons.

You can also customize the balloons for your party theme. Paper wrappers and regular balloons for a superhero theme or adding ears and eyes for a puppy balloon. You can try writing on them with colored markers… a quick target balloon for a nerf party!

If you have a Cricut or Silhouette, you can also cut out letters or decorations for your balloons (like I did for the Juma Patrol balloons).

I end up using either card stock or poster board…or both for almost every birthday party. They are so great!

I used them for party back pieces and attached them to the wall with double sided tape from the dollar store. I used scissors and a brush marker to cut the whiteboard into flags, or flipped them over with watercolors on the matte side and cut them out as a background.

I cut a black poster board with a white marker as a banner for a big city or a small building. I cut them into strips to make a giant spider web or for markers to share one year milestones.

I’ve used cardstock in a similar way, printing patterns and cutting them out for the wall or cutting out paper shapes or hexagons (hexagons are sized, but paper works here too!). Use cardstock to cut out letters or pens to make some wreaths.

Again, scissors work well for this, but if you have access to a Cricut or Silhouette, it can really speed up your party prep.

Speaking of masking tape (or glitter tape), it can be used instead of paper for some decorations, such as rows of large ice cream cone party backdrops.

Other than the basics, a party cake is something I spend time, money or effort on to make sure I stay on topic. Aside from the party theme, getting a photo is one thing…those bright photos are fun, especially when they’re small and magical candles!
