While I was planning his bedroom design, I spent some time looking at some ideas for teenage boys’ bedrooms and decided to share my favorites with you.
There are certain similarities between these boys’ bedrooms and one of the things I noticed was how the different panels look in the boys’ bedrooms! It’s also nice to have the child or teenager’s interests and preferences in the design when it comes to things like color schemes and materials. Shelves are a great way to integrate other personalized accessories and decor and can create a really cozy feel when placed on either side of the bed.
Paneling is a great way to add interest and character to a child’s bedroom (or any space!). In my search for inspiration and ideas, I found a few boys bedroom designs that featured some form of paneling.

This gorgeous boy’s room from Southern Revivals has many elements that I incorporated into Leif’s new room – it has a similar color scheme of black and white wood, warm camel and leather. In our case, we’re going to add more green to the walls, but I love the black wall in this room. You can also see that everything is done from floor to ceiling, which adds a ton of texture.
Another example of a full height board and tile is in this cute little boy’s room decor from Blessing the Nest. This time it was done on a wall instead of a full space. The black and white color scheme really makes the leather seat and cushions pop. I also love the feel of the metal and wood furniture in the boys bedroom.
The chalkboard and batten panels used on the half-wall of the applique look beautiful in this cool and comfortable feel of decorating the twelve main boys’ bedrooms. Low bookcases under the window are very useful for space. A stiletto hat and a fringed sweater give this room a chic feel.
Similar to the sweater above the bed in the previous example, this simple yet beautiful design for boys’ bedrooms features a rustic hoop over the bed. With a mix of grey, black and camel/warm tones, this helps the room feel cool and inviting despite its simple and clean lines.
