Scrapbook Background Design Ideas – Hello, friends! Elizabeth here by Plant Based Bride on YouTube and @elizabethturn on Instagram. Today I’m sharing tips for creating scrapbook-style reading goals scattered in a notebook!

I love to read (last year I read 125 books!), and this year I decided to create a reading journal to track my reading statistics and commemorate the books that really move me.

Scrapbook Background Design Ideas

One of my favorite aspects of reading is having access to a window into the life experiences of people from all over the world with an infinite variety of identities. But it can be so easy to fall into the trap of only reading books that reflect your experience back to you! I decided to set some reading goals for 2021 to keep on track when it comes to different readings.

Diy How To Scrapbook Ideas & Inspiration ✨

If you’d rather watch a timelapse of the process instead of following this blog post, check out this video:

Use some paper to create a background for the title. I like to rip it, glue it and trim the edges for a clean finish. Here it is before the cut:

Use the stamps to add the destination numbers on the left and the title on the right. You can only write them if you don’t have an alphabet stamp set!

Use washi tape to add color and layers to your spread. I like to start with a thicker piece and add overlapping thin pieces of another color on top! You can also add stickers, like this circle craft:

Quick Scrapbook Layout With Subtle Flower Vine Background

Print some images that relate to your spread or that fit the aesthetic you’re going for. I suggest keeping them small so they don’t overwhelm your spread! I chose an image of stacked books and an old vintage drawing of a flower and glued them together (and added some little stickers too!)

I like to go in at the end with my fineliner to add little details here and there to bring the whole spread together. Small lines and dots, drawings of branches with leaves or flowers, and even scales can fill open spaces and give the spread a more intentional yet whimsical feel!

I would love to see your version of this spread if you decide to make it again. Tag me on Instagram @elizabethturn  so I can see it! You can also download the printable version of the album portion of this double here:

Scrapbook Ideas For Creating A Gel-printed Look On Your Page Background

Hello everyone! Nanette is here. I am so proud to be featured on the Altenew Mixed Media blog today! Thank you Altenew for inviting me to be a part of this blog.

I’m excited to share with you some fun techniques using wine ink and mixed media to create a shabby chic textured background for a canvas album layout.

For me, scrapbook layouts are my love letters to my family. I always make sure that the three main elements are present in all my layouts – header, image and log. I wanted to upload this album page so I made it on canvas.
