Interior Design Ideas For Living And Dining Room – When designing the dining room, we wanted to choose a modern contemporary style with clean and simple accents.
When looking for furniture, we focus on minimal dining furniture that is not too large and does not take up a lot of space visually.

Although our dining table is quite large and seats 8-10 people, it does not swallow the space, but it is still open and cool.

One of my favorite pieces of furniture in the house is the Walnut Portica Dining Table with Stainless Steel Base from Room and Board.
Since we are frequent visitors, we want the dining table to accommodate a lot of people, so we chose a table that can hold 8-10 people. For reference, our desk measures 78″ W x 42″ D x 29″ H.
While walnut tops are stunning, they require good maintenance and care to look their best.

The dining table is from Room and Board, so we chose the Rhinoceros Chair in Ivory with metal legs.
These chairs are very slim and have a thin frame and are great space savers, especially if you’re trying to fit a lot of people around the table!
Since the dining area is open to the living room, we decided not to use a rug in the dining room because it would be too close to the living room rug.
To decorate the dining room, we went with a simple round mirror hung on the middle wall at the table.

We love and recommend the CB2 Infinity Mirror! We have a 48 inch infinity round mirror in black that looks great in a contemporary dining room.
It comes in 24-, 36-, and 48-inch sizes and features a super-slim aluminum frame with a 1-inch width.
We were very impressed with the high quality for the price and the fact that the mirror image is not distorted at all.
We also have a rectangular infinity mirror in our powder room for 2+ years and still love it – highly recommend it to anyone looking for a modern minimalist mirror with a slim frame!
Neutral Fall Decor Ideas For A Warm And Comfy Cottage
Our dining room chandeliers definitely enhance the look of the entire room! Our signature fixture is no longer available, but this Cluster Pendant Chandelier is a great alternative from Wayfair!
It also comes in black and stainless steel in various lengths. To preserve the succulent, we used floral foam and decorated it with white accent stones.
Overall, our dining room design is very simple and not overwhelming. Since there are no windows in the dining room, the circular mirror helps reflect the light. The walnut wood brings a nice warmth to the space and the sleek modern dining furniture makes our dining room open and airy.

Elegant Holiday Decorating Ideas For The Dining Room
Open floor plans have their pros and cons. On the one hand, they look wide and bright, which makes it easier to reflect light into the space. On the other hand, they can be surprisingly complicated to design – how can you create a unique “room” in an open space if you don’t have walls to rely on?
The good news is that this challenge is easy to overcome with a few clever design tricks. This could mean something as simple as focusing on a coordinated color palette, choosing the right furniture, or bringing in some subtle decorations to complement your living room and dining room combination.
How to get the space right depends on the layout and features of your home, but there are plenty of style tips that can help you get it right. Need information to get started? Let senior designer Kelsey Fisher give you 13 tips for designing a living room dining room.
No walls, no problem – look for natural “split points” to help break up the open floor plan. The cozy breakfast nook in this interior design draws attention to the kitchen and dining room, leaving plenty of room for a comfortable living room in front.
How To Update Your Dining Room Decor Without Redoing It All
By using the same materials in the dining room and the living room, you can ensure that the two spaces are aesthetically harmonious. Here, gray carpets and a selection of brown leather chairs bring a sense of sophistication to each room without making the interior look too similar.
If you need open space to do double duty, it’s easy to accidentally overload your interior. Solution: Balance the decor’s “together” moment with another background vignette, like in this space. A jewel-colored sofa piled high with the finest cushions complements the classic wooden dining room.
A good accent color can do wonders for the space, and can tie two separate arrangements together in the living room dining room. See how pale flowers bring a sense of harmony to this interior?
One way you can maximize light in an open floor plan: Choose wall colors strategically. While one blue wall in the dining room feels in contrast to the living room in the living room, the white wall between the two spaces helps to keep the air.
Modern Interior Design
High ceilings, white walls, pale wood, and muted modern silhouettes bring a sense of calm to this living room’s dining room, while a pair of cheetah-printed dining chairs add a touch of vivacity.
The transitional space between the living room and dining room offers many opportunities to make a statement. In this interior, the bookcase creates a beautiful entrance to the dining room and brings a lot of color to the living room.
The restrained yet sophisticated style of this apartment is proof that sometimes simple is best. Clean, modern lines and a neutral color palette help the living room dining room combination look sophisticated and relaxed.
If you don’t have walls to divide your space, one solution is to find one! Overhead lighting is a great way to separate the living room from the dining room if they are in the same space. A chandelier or chandelier can go a long way!
Dining Room Interior Design & Decor
An open floor plan with a dining room and living room doesn’t have to look “matchy” to work—in fact, you just need a few small touches to pull the two spaces together. Here, the color of the dining table runner matches the sofa cushions, and the living room chairs match the dining room arrangement.
To make the combination of the living room and the dining room seem harmonious, it will be useful to consider the two “rooms” as one; Natural textures and a warm neutral color palette—two hallmarks of modern organic style—make these two spaces feel welcoming and breezy.
The interior may be on the narrower side of the spectrum, but some smart design decisions can be made. Instead of one sofa, two sofas create a comfortable seating option without requiring extensive horizontal space, and a window bench combined with a small bistro table creates an attractive dining area.
Here’s a remodeling idea that can make different rooms in an open floor plan look more spacious: Install double pocket French doors! The glass in the door window makes the space bright, but the structure makes the dining room and the living room more distinct.
