1 – Paint the eggs with acrylic paint. You will need to give 2 to 3 coats of paint for full coverage.

2 – Download and print the template. Trace and cut out the colored map pieces. We used orange and yellow for the chicks’ wings, feet and lips and pink and white for the rabbit’s ears.

3 – To make your chick’s egg simple, glue the wings and beak to the painted egg. If you like, you can also add a piece of feathers on top of the chicken’s head.

11 – Dip your finger lightly in the paint to add a coating to the bottom of the rabbit’s feet. Glue the legs to the bottom of the bunny eggs.

I bought our craft wood eggs at Hobby Lobby. These include woodwork, not seasonal items. They keep them in stock year round.

Step 1: Draw your design in pencil. For bunnies, it’s okay to coat white or tan eggs first. For the chicks, you will need to draw a line on the face and shell before painting.

Step 2: Draw the face with a black Sharpie marker. Draw the chicken’s mouth with orange acrylic paint.

Step 3: Make the ears and feet of the rabbit. I cut them out of felt and stuck them on with Tacky Glue. The little pads for the bunnies’ feet are too small for hot glue, but Tacky Glue was a great option.

Step 4: Use hot glue to attach the bunny ears and feet to the egg. Hot glue will also work, but hot glue is great because it dries quickly and sticks well to felt and wood. Give your bunnies white pom pom tails.

I love Hobby Lobby for finding cute wooden trays and baskets. I display our Star Wars waxed eggs on a metal tray which is also cute.
