To coincide with International Women’s Day in March, students were required to create a sculpture using Makers Empire 3D software to reflect the achievements of women who have made a positive difference in their countries. It can be a historical figure, or a person alive and active today. Students challenge us to show why this woman is special, not just because of her appearance.

About 6,000 students from around the world applied for the Superwoman competition. We’d love to see the whole list if it makes design decisions more difficult! In fact, our study team wants students to know that the quality of content this month is really high. If your students missed this opportunity, they should enter the next contest because there are so many talented designers!

Winners Of The Family Treasures 3d Design Competition
To celebrate September’s Book Lamp competition and International Literacy Day on September 8th, students were asked to create a portable light that can be read in bed (or anywhere!).
Students from around the world submitted more than 9,000 entries to the Book Lamp competition. We loved looking at all the entries, but it was hard to choose a design. In the end, we found the following designs to be amazing, so congratulations to the winners and runners-up!
From the description: “He has a stand so you can’t stand. Use the clip. Maybe you should look at him and look away.”
From the description: “My light is magnetic, waterproof, solar powered, adjustable, tells the time, has a variable brightness for the light and feels cool.”

. November 19 is World Toilet Day, so we’re giving students a new bathroom design. We all spend time in the bathroom every day, so we’re asking students to show us how they can make better use of that time.
