Girl Character Design Ideas – We love cool character designs and mascot designs. We have created many amazing mascot characters and mascot logos for our clients that not only look good but also have the right impact on the target audience.

In today’s episode of Brand Inspiration, we take a look at 10 inspirational character designs that I personally love and what makes character design great, from children’s characters to game characters. Please note that these are my personal preferences (about privacy rules) and I will try to update the site whenever I feel better. Understanding the concept of character along with facial expressions leads to the creation of an amazing character from a great character concept.

I love the design style and concept of these chubby superheroes. I’m not sure it’s politically correct in the sense that it could be seen as glorifying and encouraging childhood obesity. But maybe that fits with current leftist ideas about being proud of your body. However, the characters are very well designed and the web game looks like it will be fun to watch and play – if the design style is any indication.

Each unique character design features an overweight child. Vibrant colors and 3D style make the characters pop and it’s the essence of this amazing character design. He would also make an excellent short or feature film. (source)

Random but fun character designs by the talented Chabe Escalante. The pencil work is excellent and seems to meet the Disney manga style. Colors are vibrant and true to form. He wants to look at the characters and write a story about them, maybe draw a cartoon!

Concept artist and illustrator,  Vicente Valentin, created this amazing character design. The style and impact of these characters is huge. Reminds me of DC and Marvel comics and the detail and perspective is amazing.

The linework, shading, and color scheme give the characters depth and power, making them seem like they’re floating on the ground at any given moment. (source)

How To Give Old Reference Drawings New Life

Another series of interesting characters from the talented Chabe Escalante made it to this list. I love her pictures! This time, Chubb explores DC’s main characters and gives them a new perspective. He created other versions of the characters, perhaps when they were younger, and really created a series where they were just your regular people in suits and trademark bomber jackets.

Either way, Chub’s character studies look amazing and I think an animated series featuring these characters would be a hit! (source)

Asian Connection is a series of characters inspired by talented digital artist Tano Bonfanti’s travels to China and Japan, where he was inspired by the stunning and dynamic images he then decided to create as characters. The characters seem to come from an apocalyptic world, perhaps 300 years in the future. They seem to have bi0nic implants and cyborg-like extensions. The clothes are very trendy and inspired by Japanese clothes like kimono. The tools are also very organic and look good. There is even a samurai sword.

These characters are rendered in 3D and look like they could be used as inspiration for a sci-fi movie like Ghost In The Shell. (source)

Created by Goodname Studio, this character set is one of my favorites because I love all things 30s and 40s – art deco, fashion and steampunk. Or even the 50s and 60s! The studio’s role was to design characters and environments to suit specific events for an animated project.

The characters look very stylish and cool. The illustration style is very similar to a project we did for one of our clients – clean lines, a little larger than life and very much on display. (source)

Now that’s an interesting character to influence any marketing campaign. The 3D-rendered T-rex looks like a full-grown T-rex, but fun – harmless and gentle. The 3D rendering is very detailed in detail and the various poses carried the wholeness of the giant very well.

Designed by Gal Yosef and Fusion Studio, the character designs are a study in how to take an almost cliché icon and breathe new life and perspective into it. The marketing campaign for TBurger seems well thought out and planned. (source)

Everyone loves Marvel characters – at least I’d like to think so. I am a big fan and love movies. I’ve seen many versions of Marvel character designs, but this series by the talented Josep Sole takes the cake.

These characters are very strange and almost silly – caricatured in their eyes and appearance and behavior, but each character has their own personality and strengths. Captain America looks serious, but you can see the purpose in his eyes. The Hulk looks crazy as usual, but his powers are revealed. Iron Man looks leaner than I’d like, but it has style and sophistication. Finally, Thor looks epic with his insane attitude, bravery and strength. (source)

This character series is very unique in that they look more like paintings than illustrations. They were created by Max Twain in Vladivostok, Russia and are a combination of illustration, photography and 3D CGI rendering. They look beyond this world. With a sense of realism that is difficult to achieve through CGI, Max was able to create excellent character models.

Unless you’ve been told it’s CGI, it’d be hard to tell it’s anything other than close inspection. Hats off to Max! (source)

The characters in this great game The Evil Within 2 for PS4 are very well designed and executed. Again, they look more like real characters than CGI characters – especially on the cover where the white pain spreads. (source)

I wish I could make a top 20 character design or a top 30 character design! There are an incredible amount of character designs out there, including both 2D and 3D characters, so this list may be very limited, but my goal was to represent a wide range of design styles and aesthetics. If you have any favorite character designs or even comic book images you’d like to share, post links to them in the comments section below.
