50th Birthday Decoration Ideas Diy – If you’ve been to the blog before or know me personally, you know I love birthdays And since celebrating a 50th birthday is such a special milestone in our lives (especially for us ladies), it’s an occasion that deserves something.
Attention – Right??! So I took the Sweet 16 gold glitter I made for my daughter’s birthday (see below for tips) and tweaked them a bit to make 50th birthday selfie props. And why? Well, because I have 2 dear friends who are stunning and turning 50 – and we all deserve a little golden glamor on our special day! Here’s a DIY idea for a 50th birthday: a selfie frame and numbers

50th Birthday Balloon Bouquet
The first thing you want to do is lay out your 5-0 and frame on the foam board
For the frame, you simply make pencil hash marks at 3-inch intervals, then connect the marks in one long line.
Basically, you just put 2 rulers 3 inches together to find your corner point. The blue line (pictured below) is just to show you what the corner will look like when it’s finished
Note: If you are using a larger foam board, just change the dimensions to fit what works best for you.

I decided to use a utility knife on this project that I used for yard signs, so I could compare them.
Note: Either way – just be sure to gently push the center of the zero so you don’t accidentally bend the number.
But luckily the pom pom will be added and you can “hide” or cover up such a big cut – LOL!!
You are then ready to paint your numbers and frame with gold metallic and then gold glitter
10 Easy Diy Birthday Decorations
FII: This part is different from yard sign I didn’t use glitter sprinkles on this project because the glitter on the yard sign got a little messy and I didn’t want it on anyone’s clothes.
So you spray gold paint on the numbers and frame and let it dry for about 30 minutes – 1 hour. Do not over spray or it will bubble the foam board!!
It’s time to hot glue your white pom poms to the sides of the numbers and frame
Tip: It’s a good idea to practice “spacing” on these pom poms to get an idea of ​​how much you’ll need and to help hide some of those not-so-good cuts (that I mentioned earlier).

5 really needed more help – LOL – so all my pom poms didn’t line up exactly like I would have liked But hey – it’s all good!
I used silver glitter alphabet letters and numbers so that I could place them straight in the frame…but they didn’t hold up well because of the glitter color.
Note: Make sure to buy letters/numbers that match the width of your frame Remember how we measured 3 inches for the frame? You will need to fit them, so I chose 2 inch alphabet letters
If you want to quit 5-0, you’re done!! If you want to add a selfie stick stud, tape it to the back with packing tape.
