The house is filled with art and decorations that Sandra and her husband have collected over the years. Items displayed in their home depict eternal life abroad as well as travels around the world. If you just saw her house as it is today. You probably don’t think about the time and effort Sandra put into building this house. It started with just a few pieces of furniture. She said it took her about two years to transform the house into a modern interior.

I love this dining room. It has the perfect decoration that makes the room look peaceful, natural, and beautiful. How cool is this table? It is a single piece of wood on two simple metal legs.
Sandra is a wonderful singer. She organizes birthday parties and cooks for friends at her house during the day. Her spread was very impressive.
If you ask me what is my favorite moment in expat life? My answer is when I am with talented colleagues from all over the world, like at Sandra’s party. We realize that we are happy in many ways at the same time. We are connected because we all go through the same challenges of expat life as traveling spouses do. Companionship is a gift that I value in this lifestyle.

This is the guest bedroom where the lucky winner can spend time. The chair in the corner was bought at a Sunday market in Brazil. Brazil is a country that Sandra and her family called home for many years before moving to Manila. It was also the country where her second child was born.

Pictures of this colorful beach town are a souvenir from Brazil. It has special meaning for the family because it depicts the beach and buildings where Sandra and her family lived in Brazil.
This is Sandra’s daughter’s room, which uses calming sea tones. The wall is beautifully decorated in white and gray. String lights set the perfect mood for a room. I’m a fan.

This is Sandra’s son’s room. Her son is the youngest of two children and a good friend of my son. This could be my son’s dream room with a Star Wars bedspread, Star Wars character toys, and Super Hero wall posters, all of my son’s favorite things! This room has lots of ideas for boys’ rooms.
The Yoda and BB8 dolls were purchased at Rockwell in Manila, when the name of the store was learned. I will update the post with the shop name. I’m sure there are many parents who would love to have something like this for their children!

At the beginning of this academic year Sandra’s son and my son met in the same class and became fast friends. My son just got on a plane and started a new school last summer. Invited to Sandra’s son’s birthday party the first week of school. Knowing that he was making friends in a new city in a new country meant a lot to him. The same is true for me as a parent too.
There is nothing better than a mother’s friend. Sandra accepted me from the first time we met and helped me in many ways. Things related to children You can’t help but feel drawn to her friendly, outgoing, fun, and thoughtful personality. She has a way of making people feel cared for. To me, she is like the older sister that every expat dreams of when they come to the post office.
