Before starting work, it is important to properly prepare the T-shirt. There is always a small chance that the fabric will shrink after washing, so wash and dry the t-shirt before you start. Drawing a T-shirt is step 1. Draw a horizontal line down the middle of the t-shirt with a black marker – this will be the base of our t-shirt. Then draw two semicircles inside the other (this is the heart of the mandala t-shirt) and add two rows of petals on top (this is the first flourish of the mandala). This is how we complete the first step of dyeing the shirts.
T-Shirt Drawing Step 2. Add another row of double row leaves above the first inflorescence and paint the base of each leaf with black. This completes the second step of the shirt dyeing process.
Draw T-shirt Step 3. Draw two semi-circles that make up the basic outline of our Mandala T-shirt and complete it with a chain of small patterns (as painted on our T-shirt). Here are some ideas for decorating the t-shirt: draw 5 pendants with a crescent moon, star, flower (center only), circles below the main vertical line (painted with the base of our t-shirt). Draw 6 more short dots between the 5 ears and color them in black. This is how we complete step 9 to paint the t-shirt.
T-shirt drawing step 10. Ink the T-shirt drawing decorations as follows: stars in pink and yellow, crescent moon in blue, large balls in purple, small balls in blue, rose in pink. This is how we complete step 10 of shirt dyeing.

This was such a fun and easy project! It’s not just for them, she said, I should spend more money doing creative things with my girls. Start with an initial print to use as a template. I used the font “Rockwell Extra Bold” at 600 pt.

Trace the initials onto the freezer paper. (the annoying part) You’ll want plenty of white space around the letters to protect the shirt from text that goes outside the lines.
Cut the initials to form the template. I couldn’t find my x-acto knife so I used scissors.
Anchor a piece of freezer paper as centered over the t-shirt as possible – this can also be cool if you don’t want it otherwise. (Letters such as a hole or shaped center floating “A” will require you to cut out a small triangle or circle and place it on the shirt after you adhere to the outline of the letter.)
Now start doodling with markers, or scribbling or making another pattern. I tried a few neon stripes.
