The goal of this small kitchen design was to keep the same design and improve the existing one. Paint the walls and cabinets, add new hardware to the cabinets, new ceiling light and new countertops and backsplash.
New flooring has already been added and we are going to keep the same stove, which was removed for cleaning, and we are going to keep the same range hood.
At the bottom right next to the sink was an open space with no cupboards. So we measured the space and bought a new base cabinet with drawers. It fits perfectly and even though it’s a little different, it goes well together!
Since the space is very small, it was very important to decide what paint color to paint the cabinets. I know I wanted the upper cabinets and walls to be white. This will open up the space and not make it look like a room full of cupboards.

To add some interest and color, two-tone cabinets would be best. At first it sounded good to do dark base cabinets, but I wanted the whole space to feel light and airy. So we went with Benjamin Moore October Mist for the lower cabinets and Benjamin Moore Simply White for the upper cabinets.

When I came across this Zellige boutique ceramic glass subway tile at Lowe’s, I knew I had to use it! I love the color variations and it looks just like the popular Cloe tiles but for a fraction of the price!
New quartz counters were installed and it had a new stainless steel sink. We went with a nice single bowl sink and paired it with a pretty gold faucet.

A nice light fixture that provides good lighting when the sun doesn’t come through the window complements the kitchen very well.
We were able to restore the original hood and stove and it honestly looks good in the space. Because of the dark cabinets and general lighting in the room, we thought the hood was white. I even washed it and it still looked white. That was until we painted it all and took it back to the kitchen to realize it was a nice bright white! The lighting was beige!

We painted the walls and trim in Sherwin Williams Pure White and added a nice roman shade to the window to add some warmth.
Off the kitchenette is a retro fridge which is perfect for the space and there is a nice breakfast nook before moving on to the dining room.
In the base cabinet that was added to fill that gap that was there before, we added bins to take out the trash and a drawer organizer for the drawer tools.
We bought a sink to dry dishes, a dish rack and fixtures that we could salvage from the existing cabinets in this kitchen.
