Cabinet Ideas For Kitchen – Looking for kitchen cabinet storage ideas? I’m giving you a tour of our kitchen and sharing all the storage and organization ideas that are in mine!

I love smart storage and organization systems. Besides a much larger pantry, the kitchen we remodeled in our previous house had about the same amount of storage as my previous one, but I could fit a lot more in the cabinets because of all the storage and organization features.

Cabinet Ideas For Kitchen

Today I’m opening up the cabinet doors and drawers so you can see all the kitchen cabinet storage ideas packed inside. Let’s start with the closet feature I have the most questions about… (

The trash can + built in paper towel holder combo is one of my favorite kitchen cabinet storage solutions of all! First, I like that it can fit two trash cans, so I can use one for regular trash and one for recycling. In my old kitchen, every time I wanted to recycle something I had to go to the garage and throw it in the recycling bin, so this is definitely a very popular change:

And the built-in paper towel holder above the trash can compartment is awesome if you’re someone like me who hates paper towel rolls cluttering up your countertops! I’ve had a few questions about the paper towel compartment being separate from the trash compartment, so I thought I’d share the look.

As you can tell, there is a divider between the two so the bottom of the paper towel roll never touches the top of my bin:

The paper towel holder compartment is on the back, so there’s room to store a few extra rolls of paper towels! Masterbrand Cabinets also makes a similar trash holder + paper towel holder with a full-height door that completely covers the paper towel compartment in case you don’t want the paper towel roll on display. I feel like it would be a pain to have a paper towel holder behind a closed door, but I can totally see using a cabinet with full doors for a convenient but hidden place to store extra rolls of paper towels and trash bags.

And if you want to add this double pull-out trash can to an already existing base cabinet, look. I added one to my sister’s kitchen and it’s really easy (and she loves it!).

I’ve also gotten a lot of questions about where my litter boxes are from – they actually came with my Masterbrand cabinet, but if you want to buy them separately, I’ve found them.

In my old kitchen we kept our silverware in a drawer with one of those cheap plastic cutlery – it worked well but left a lot of drawer space unused. Our silverware is now housed in solid wooden cutlery – such a clever solution for cutlery storage:

The top compartment is on a rail so it slides back to reveal a second level of storage underneath. I keep all of our everyday cutlery in the top tray and then less frequently used cutlery like steak knives on the bottom. I love that I get about double the storage space I’m used to with the same size drawer! If you’re looking for a two-tier cutlery tray like mine to add to an existing drawer, you can find my tiered organizer in several widths.

One of the greatest luxuries of my new kitchen is a much larger pantry! Deep pantries with fixed shelves can sometimes be a pain because you can’t see all the way back, but pull-out shelves allow you to see everything inside:

Since the shelves take up so much space, I found using pantry baskets to keep everything organized and in place. I have four on the top shelf, three on the second shelf, and two + two for spices and cooking oils on the third shelf.

You know how the inside of some cabinets can be a bit of a dark hole? My sink base has a battery-powered strip light similar to the one mounted right in the door, so when I open it, it detects movement and the light illuminates everything inside:

As you can see, there is a lot of not-so-nice stuff in the space under my sink between the piping, the apron sink supports, and the hole cut in the bottom to access the heater, but I was able to squeeze in Some organizers to make the most of the space.

I have all my dishwashing tablets in and to the right of them I use scrub brushes at the bottom and sponges and cloths at the top:

I love this kitchen cabinet storage solution! I’ve had other corner cabinet solutions in our previous houses, including a lazy Susan in our first house and simple drawers on either side of the corner in our second house, leaving all the corner space unused. The solution that Masterband Cabinets has for our current kitchen is by far my favorite!

I have three corner drawers (one shallow and two deep) that slide completely so you have access to the entire drawer. So smart! In the top drawer I have longer dishes in two or in the back and shorter dishes in the front:

In the deeper bottom drawers, I have a few that hold my most frequently used spices, measuring cups, and lots of short utensils:

It’s a night and day difference from how my dishes were stored before, which was basically one deep, unsortable pile in a drawer that drove me (and my husband) crazy!

My cookie sheets and cutting boards are stored on end in the base cabinet to the left of our range – held upright by a series of metal dividers attached to the base and back of the cabinet:

The dividers come individually so I was able to customize the number of dividers and the spacing between them to suit my needs. And above them is a shallow shelf that uses every bit of cabinet space!

You can do this for one of your cabinets by (1) getting chrome dividers like mine, which you install with brackets screwed to the bottom and back of the cabinet – it takes a little more time, but the advantage is that you can choose the Cabinet. Distance between the dividers – You will find this type of divider (2) for a super quick and easy storage solution, you can grab one and just throw it in the closet! I had this exact one in my old kitchen and it worked great!

We’ve always had a place in the kitchen to charge our phones and iPad – this one sat on a shallow cabinet next to our coffee bar. In our new kitchen, I wanted to keep my worktops as clutter-free as possible, so instead we store the electronics in a drawer under our Nespresso machine, which has a built-in drawer with USB ports:

I especially like that I can have my iPad in there because I use it for recipes when I cook. And if I want to have more electronics in the socket, just plug the double USB plug into one of the sockets. I have lots of outlets in the back for small kitchen appliances, but it would also be a great place to plug in something like a blender!

I also use this drawer as my hidden coffee station with three Nespresso pods and a narrower basket with mixing spoons.

You’d never know it until you start picking through the drawers and look at the top, but my kitchen island is a total workhorse – I don’t think there’s an inch of wasted space! You can’t tell by looking at it, but the top drawers in my island are actually two drawers in one. When you open them, there is a shallow roll drawer for extra storage.

My favorite thing to do is have some basic desk essentials in the kitchen, because that’s where I end up filling out school papers, paying bills, etc., and the roll tray is perfect for that:

I organized the inside of the role stack with a . I chose dark gray to match the color of my island, but they also make them in white and five other fun colors.
