School is back in session! When I was little, I loved shopping for school supplies. But even more fun was decorating my new trap guards or covering my textbooks with colorful papers. One thing I never thought about decorating with was my notebooks. To be honest, I’ve never thought of decorating them, I’m so amazed, they are the perfect canvas for color design and decorations. This is probably my favorite part of having a planner/diary! The sky’s the limit when it comes to decorating! It really depends on your imagination as there is so much you can create! Since Spring is here (almost if you live in the Midwest like me) I decided to go with a watercolor and pastel color theme to freshen things up for my new layout!

I love using all kinds of washi tapes, stamps, stickers and anything else that I think looks good and compliments the layout! I love the way this page is laid out! It makes me happy inside because there is so much color and beauty going on and I definitely can’t wait to start filling it.

How To Decorate A Notebook

I love journaling cards! They add character and life to your layout – at least in my opinion! And once covered, they don’t waste and can be reused on other pages. You can leave them as another piece of decor or use them as a sticky note dashboard for easy access when planning your trip!

Note cards can be found at any of your local craft stores, Walmart or Target. Alternatively, you can make your own with cardboard! Download some beautiful fonts from dafont.com and write your own quotes or find cute pictures from Pinterest and print them!

DIY paperclips may seem complicated and time-consuming, but they’re not! Cardstock, washi tape, ribbon, stamps, and stickers (just to name a few) – If you’re using cardstock or stickers and want to make them sturdy, paper clip the design to the laminate before you run.

I think DIY paper clips would add a nice touch to your planner/diary! I mean, come on, look how cute it is!!

10 Creative & Easy Ways To Decorate School Notebooks

It’s boring to use regular post-it notes.. but their adhesiveness is much better than others and you can change them a million times without losing the adhesiveness. So, why not customize them and turn it from boring to cute! And really, it’s very simple. All you need is a stamp and/or a pair of scissors. You can go to town with it and do whatever your heart desires!
