Book Design Ideas Easy – I was at my mother-in-law’s house the other day and I was very impressed when she showed me her handwritten book that she has kept since childhood. And then I realized that I really should start writing down my favorite recipes instead of looking them up online every time I want to make a new dish. So the idea for a handwritten recipe book came to me. So, in today’s tutorial, you’ll learn how to create a simple recipe book cover that will help preserve your cooking knowledge and meaningful recipes for years to come. This is the first step in creating a recipe book that will definitely encourage you to write some recipes.

For this lesson you will need a notebook of any size. I got this paper with a beautiful purple cover from a handmade paper shop.

I love paisley patterns in henna designs, so I decided to include them in my drawing today. I used my Faber Castell watercolor pencils to create this simple drawing that is easy to use. I started by using a light pink pencil to create a drawing of various sizes around the space shown below.

Then I used a blue pencil to make the inside of the small colored paper bigger and fill it with color. If you notice that I haven’t added blue to all the paisleys, that’s because I’ll add other colors later.

I want my cover to be colorful and interesting. Use bright colors as much as possible. I added the rest with pink and orange.

I got a negative vibe, and as you know, I’m not a fan of that. So I decided to add a swimsuit around the blue paper with a blue pencil. However, I still feel like I could use a lighter shade of blue. I highlighted the inner rectangle with a pink pen

You can find a basic notebook or essay for a few dollars at the grocery store or corner store, or maybe you have a book lying around the house that you want to improve on. Mod Podge can be purchased at any craft store for about $5-10. You can pick up a foam brush at a time for less than a dollar.

Step 1: Start by choosing your paper and tracing the outline of your front and back notebook cover (make sure you follow the back of your paper). If your paper already has straight edges, use it for the edges that go up the spine of the notebook. You can also give your notebook a beautiful collage look by cutting the paper into several pieces and applying it!

Step 2: Then you cut it out, but you’ll want to leave about an extra inch around the top, bottom, and one edge of the piece you’ll be folding inside the notebook, so don’t worry about keeping it straight. . The other end will touch the spine of your notebook, so keep it clean and straight, or use the right edge of your paper like I did, and you won’t have to touch it! Do this for both your front and back.

Step 3: Once you’ve cut out your pieces, you’re ready to glue them to your notebook. Make sure you’re working on a good surface to get some Mod Podge – it can be a little sticky and messy! With a foam brush, apply Mod Podge to both the back of the paper and your notebook. Then glue the piece to the notebook.

Step 4: For the edges Take the scissors and cut the edges, this will allow you to fold the paper over the edges. Add a little more Mod Podge to the back of the paper and fold the three corners up and secure it inside your notebook.

Step 5: Once you’ve folded the top three corners, take your scissors and carefully fold any excess paper around each corner. This makes the edges nice and finished.

Step 6: Now it’s time to add some accents if you want. I decided to add a “K” to the front of my notebook and have a decorative stripe running down the center to the back. Enjoy this step! You can add cut profiles, cell interface and more. Tip: This is the perfect way to recycle old wrapping paper!

Step 7: When you’re done decorating, cover the notebook with a final coat of Mod Podge on the front and back of your notebook. Tip: Use enough Mod Podge to cover everything, but don’t seal it. Just use a nice smooth layer. This also helps with drying time!
