Animal Crossing Tree Design Ideas – Imagine: You go to Isabelle at Residential Services and ask her to rate your island. Her little thought bubble pops up, and she says you’re… now rated 4 stars! what?? How?? You think, “I did everything you asked!” Or, “I only have a 5 star rating!”
If you are here, and you feel that there is nothing else you can do to improve the island, you have definitely come to the right post. Fear not, because I’m going to help you review all the 5-star island features you need in Animal Crossing: New Horizons
Animal Crossing Tree Design Ideas
Technically using point scale to develop islands and scenery. Your score depends on how many specific item categories you’ve submitted, but these rankings involve a lot of thought (and math) that I, and probably you, put into them. So here is the simpler version with simple approximations:

At first glance, this list can be overwhelming. But don’t worry! It’s easier than it looks, and you can still achieve this without losing the organized island. This is how.
Some people’s first instinct when they see the number of trees needed to achieve a 5 star rating is to go around the island and plant trees anywhere and everywhere in all the empty spaces. But this only leads to more work later if you want to maintain the island and make it more cohesive. So how do you stay organized and plant all the trees you need?
Build a garden! This requires little planning other than choosing the type of tree you want in your garden. Depending on how much space you need, your garden can be as big or as small as you like.
Personally, I choose to plot with one row per result and 10 columns per result (5 x 10 plot). So I found a lot of non-native fruit that I could pick in bulk every three days and a rack of bells. Well, I made 50 fruit trees look really good by keeping a neat dirt pattern plot that is so cohesive and separate from the rest of the island.

Of course, you can also use other types of trees available to you, such as pine trees and bamboo, to create a different ecosystem on your island, like a zen garden or a forest. This can help increase your total number.
So, 50 pieces of fence is really easy once you start building. But most of them get tunnel vision on how to use fences on the island, and the first idea is to surround a large area with a single fence.
Do not think clunky this season and table food! Use different fences around the island to give the area different personalities. You can do this by creating a courtyard around the houses of the village, creating a small garden area, or by sprinkling the space that has been created.
When your island is equipped with one type of flower, finding all species is beneficial for your Nook Miles rating and achievements.

If you’re like me, you want at least one of every flower in every color. But it’s a hassle to make it look beautiful and keep it tamed while trying to manage and maintain it. I have tried different ways to order flowers around the island, but my favorite is to create a rainbow garden.
This allowed me to make the sections small enough to not take up my entire island and still have a nice area to display the different flowers.
Man, the theme of my island is nature and the core theme, so I have a section or two where the cliffs are completely covered in flowers to embody what you would find in the wild. After getting a 5 star rating, I let the Lily of the Valley flowers grow randomly to capture the feeling.
One of the hardest things to do on a 5 star tour is fall off the ramp. At that time, my costs were high and the pressure was on to put it in the right place.

But I’m here to tell you, the most important aspect to put on a ramp (at least for me) is how you will use it. Will your ramp be specially designed to go up or down to the next level? Are they fun features that add character to the area? How easily can you get from point A to point B?
Once you get the hang of it, don’t be afraid to place ramps next to each other! You can do this by placing ramps between the three cliffs and using them to create a fun path to run up and down. Here’s an example from my island where my ramps double as an easy path from my campsite to a hidden beach and fun trail.
Like ramps, bridges can be overwhelming to find the perfect spot on your island. However, there is also a limiting factor when planting this, as you must have some source of water to plant it.
Try to have fun with your bridge in terms of design and placement as you think about how to use it. You can create a small pond and add a diagonal bridge to create a small water feature in your garden or yard. Or, you can create a lost bridge in a forest area.
How To Build A 5-star Island In Animal Crossing: New Horizons
Here are my thoughts on a few different designs. As I said before, I love the cottagecore vibe, so my personal style is more “nature explorer” than “city guy.”
Depending on how long you are in the game, this can be a challenge. But if you have a lot of materials and DIY cards, there are several different ways to keep your island less cluttered but still use a lot of furniture for decoration.
It’s a great way to put a lot of things in a small space without overwhelming it. And there are many designs to choose from: cafe, park, camp, beach, garden, etc.
Really good about giving you lots of outdoor gear to choose from to decorate your island. Although I didn’t plan it at first, I created a large garden and pumpkin patch area with water faucets, garden storage, carts and more. It is also a great way to process fruit or vegetables when you need a clock urgently.

I fought myself planning this for a week, but after redesigning many times, I finally came up with a small area where my village can lounge in the pool. Next to this, I also have a sand volleyball court to complete the aesthetic of the summer camp with many activities.
, it is important that you buy a variety of large and small items to decorate your island. This does not mean that you should buy everything you see. Note the type of area you want to create on your island and make sure it is in the Nook’s Cranny or the Nook Stop at Resident Services.
As mentioned above, you want to think about what to do with the furniture after you get it. A very good idea to achieve is to adapt the village lawn to your personality. You can do this by adding some trees or bushes, benches, and small tables with coffee cups or other small items on top.
Whether you have an island theme or just your home, adding items of furniture to your home can make you feel more complete. Personally, I wasn’t sure what to do with my house, so I added a few things here and there to make it look like a real house.

A lesser known feature of maintaining or obtaining a 5 star island is to ensure that the furniture, trees and flowers are not all together. The game rates your island by looking at 8×8 sections (so 64 squares in total), and if there are more than 45 sections on the board, it will remove your rating.
So make sure you spread out different areas of your island and make small spaces out of large open sections. If you feel that a certain point is still missing, ask yourself what you are adding to real life to make it friendlier or more complete.
