Minecraft Birthday Party Decoration Ideas – My second child turns eight this year. And he wants to throw a Minecraft birthday party. I’m not sure Minecraft parties are still “cool” but the game is still a huge hit with my son and his friends! I have been searching for ideas for this party for a long time. and ended up borrowing ideas Based on what I read and made my own printable set. It ended up being a fun party with a few mishaps. I thought it would be a good idea to share exactly how I threw this party. What I bought And how to throw one in case you want to throw your own Minecraft birthday party I haven’t found any good free printables yet. many online Hope this whole set is helpful!
So I’m not crazy about the decorations because I’m more focused on the game. I think it would be more fun for boys anyway. I bought two green plastic tablecloths because I thought two looked prettier on the table than one. The nice thing about this is that you can roll up the tablecloth and all the trash inside and throw it away.

I arranged black paper plates with green napkins. I bought green and black balloons. Fill it with helium. and draw the Creeper’s face with a black felt-tip pen. The balloons were in the center of the table and around the house I also put food and games on the table for decoration.

I made two batches of brownies and cut them into squares. I arranged them neatly on a black square plate I had on hand. Then I made a simple green frosting recipe and piped the “herb” ends onto the cupcakes. I placed a brownie on top to make it look like Minecraft. Maybe I’ll add some fun figurines. or something But I don’t have enough time.
I also make pizza dough. Place on a cookie sheet. And make each pizza with a creeper topping. I forgot to take a picture of this because I made it in the middle of a party. If you look back I should probably finish it before the party. The party went on like a whirlwind! I just cut the pepperoni into squares to make it look like ivy. It is an interesting effect. But I’m not sure the kids would be interested. I might just buy a square pizza at Little Caesar’s or something.
I still have lots of snacks. But it was for scavenger hunts and most of them were taken home. I wrapped a child sized water bottle with Healing Potion printable.
There are 3 games/activities: The first game is a gift unwrapping game. They had to discard the take and unwrap a present wrapped in 20 layers of wrapping paper. They used gloves and a spoon to unwrap it. Every few levels there was a “Diamond Sword,” a blue lollipop with a printable sword hilt attached to it. end It is a fun way to start the party.

Afterwards we went on a scavenger hunt. I bought clear plastic bins at Walmart for them to put their stuff in. But it’s too small. Next time I’ll probably make a paper gift bag. I made a “shovel” out of a scrap of MDF I had for the handle. And cut a shape out of cardboard and wrap it in foil for the ax head. Then I attached it to the MDF with heavy duty staples. I thought it was a fun bonus.
I provide 9 recommendations for each of our 8 items in the inventory. Everyone picks up buckets, picks, and inventory items. And I read the first hint. The first clue is the coal you dug in the “mountain” so they go upstairs to the playroom where they find the coal “buried” under the mountain of blocks. I want them to make fishing rods for the next one. So they had to take the thread from the spider like in the game. The spider is a black balloon that must be popped. Then they took the beams and ropes and put them together.
The next thing is fishing. So they drew a line across the fence where my oldest son and his friend were cutting bags of fish. They get the next clue and move on. There are many more mining clues. The first time they had to dig in the ground to find (the melons) and the other they had to overcome the creeping plants. (Green Balloon to get TNT) I put all three inventory items in some chests I made from black tape and chipboard boxes.
The final activity is making your own slime. We followed this simple recipe but had a problem because the cheap contact solution I bought didn’t have the right ingredients to activate the glue and cause a chemical reaction. To make sure it contains sodium borate and boric acid. After I thought about it I finally got the personal contact solution and used it and it worked. We put the slime in a small plastic cup. Along with the lids I got at Hobby Lobby, I printed custom labels just for these cups. And the labels work great!
