There is nothing worse than a dark or gloomy bathroom! Make BILOR on your designer’s natural light bathroom checklist. You may have an exterior view that can be framed by a large window for a beautiful feature, or if the view is not ideal or windows are not an option, a skylight may work equally well. Large skylights are perfect for filling bathrooms with natural light, and they work especially well in residential areas where houses sit close together as they provide #cloud views instead of neighboring rooftops.

If you’re looking to redecorate a bathroom at home, below are some small bathroom design ideas and inspiration from all we’ve spent on bathrooms. If you have a qualified person, he or she can take on this job. If not, just hire someone else. If you have everything figured out and know what you want from the space, it won’t take long. Being consistent requires focus and vision. Renovating your bathroom will go a long way and turning it into a factory from scratch!

This was a former bathroom. It was a typical bathroom from the 1970s, all finished at the time. I can’t wait to redecorate this bathroom and make it beautiful! This update has brought it back to life and made it really bright!

The original look I wanted for this bathroom was more of a modern farmhouse look, but the vanity really did it all. Everything modern rustic was too big or too expensive, so I had to adjust my vision. I went back and forth on what color I wanted for this bathroom (a lot…ask my husband). Because I am a librarian, I tend to be indecisive. I’m surprised he hasn’t killed me yet! We purchased this porcelain tile a few months before this bathroom reno, so it really set the tone for the entire design. I loved the heavy detailing of this tire, and I knew the top half of the shower needed to be bolder and more defined in style for contrast.

So instead of matching black and white tiles perfectly, we separated them with dark gray on the walls. The paint color is Peppercorn from Sherwin Williams, which is almost a classic charcoal color. It’s dark enough to provide contrast, but doesn’t make the entire room as dark as black. My father used to paint the house, and when I chose this color, all I could think was, “Are you painting the bathroom black?” What are you doing, idiot?” Luckily, he liked the finished product.

Now that I had chosen a dark charcoal paint color, I had to figure out a way to keep this small bathroom bright and clean. It was board and batten! We have so many paintings and paintings in our house that my husband is now an installation expert. Once you get the measurements and materials, it adds up very quickly and can mean a lot. We created a grid board and placed it quarter-mounted on the wall to contrast with the dark charcoal color.

Did I mention my love of gold? Although I was working in black and white in this area, I knew I had to include gold. It just has a way of making everything look beautiful and look great in black and gold. The kitchen has gold accents and a gold chandelier next to this bathroom, so it felt like it made the most sense to go with that. After much discussion, I found a gold necklace that my husband and I mutually agreed on and that goes well with other jewelry. Gold can also be useful. This is especially true when purchasing items online.

In addition to the gold vanity, I also needed a gold towel bar and toilet paper holder. Sometimes choosing a specific finish can be limiting, but we were able to find options we liked and chose very modern designs for both of them. These heated hand towels also matched perfectly with the bathroom ambiance.

Of course I had to have a toilet cleaner as well (my husband thought I was crazy and pretended I didn’t have gold), but I found this product and I love how it fits together and is consistent.

Bathroom Design Ideas And Inspiration

This emptiness became the bane of my existence. We finally found a white space that suited the style and matched the lower part of the wall. We didn’t like the handles (silver) that our original vanity had, so we replaced them.
