Bathroom Design Ideas Transitional – Sometimes, when my big projects take longer than I expected, I start to get overwhelmed and need to complete something to give myself a little motivation. I had to bring in my orange paint last week to touch up the dining room and decided to give our downstairs powder room a little break. Nothing extreme or big, but proof that a few changes and a few days can make a space feel different. Here’s a quick look at decorating a transitional living room with amazing things.

This is our main bathroom downstairs. My biggest complaint is that it felt familiar. The two wall sconces are the only source of light, the walls were a bit dark and the mirror was beautiful, I really liked the finish on it but it wasn’t my style at all.

I have bigger design plans for the bathroom but it doesn’t need to be remodeled. So for now, I want to focus on making small changes that will revive and shine with limited expenses.

One of the biggest changes was to make the walls thinner. I used orange paint left over from our dining room. It is a very soft oat color. I used a wood wash tip and then did 1 coat of tray 100% and a second coat of 50% so you can see more variation on the walls.

It is difficult to see the full picture in the pictures, but it is a natural picture. I love the matte finish and the softness it brings to the space.

There is another trick I used to light up the bathroom without changing the light fixture. I changed the lights from 2700K to 3000K and changed the shades to white shades to allow bright light to pass through. Between painting and low light tricks, it made a big difference.

I got this gold mirror for only $75 which was the perfect touch to my vanity. I also added a small olive tree, cosmetic soap and hand towels. I love Turkish hand towels and have them in almost every bathroom. They add more visuals.

I found these vine designs on Amazon, they are AMAZING! They come in cloth sheets and are of very high quality. I bought the 4 pack but only ended up using 1 print. I thought it blended well with the ceiling wall. I found the Hobby Lobby strip!

Above the bathroom I added this cute woven basket that holds extra TP. A good place for guests to find out where to change the menu. You can also add women’s items here as well.

Upstairs is this lovely and sweet paper called The Brook from Morris & Co. It’s a unique scene. Now I love him and the character he brings to the space.

Despite what it looks like in pictures (and even in person) the vanity is actually dark blue. It’s even darker than it looks on the website. It’s been a while since we moved, but I found you online! Vanity and counter combo.
