What better way to celebrate the Queen’s 90th birthday than with this easy-to-make tiara fit not only for the Queen, but a king, prince or princess too!
You should be able to get 10 crowns from these products – but it depends on the size of the crown and whether it is for children or adults!

So let’s get started! First of all, remember to always ask for adult assistance if needed if you wear this crown!
First, measure the size of your baby’s head (or crown for that matter!). Start at the forehead and measure all the way around – add a few inches all the way around to make sure it’s not too tight!
With this measurement, take your metal card, flip it into the ground and make a zigzag pattern. You will need two panels for each crown to fit your baby’s head. In this step we glued the two panels together, rotated them to create the picture on the white side and then cut out a triangle and used it as a template making sure all the triangles were the same size:
When you get to this stage, match both ends of the crown to your baby’s head measurement to make sure it is the same size. We used sticky tape to hold them together and then taped them together to make sure they were secure! You will now have the correct sized basic crown shape…
How To Make A Coronation Crown
Your crown decoration is ready! This is where you can have fun – how you decorate your crown is entirely up to you. We went with the real crown but the possibilities are endless!
First, we need to add a blanket of cotton or snow to make the crown more realistic! Note, you don’t need to just use cotton or a snow blanket here – plain white yarn works just as well! Or for real luxury, why not use leopard print accessories! It’s the Queen’s 90th birthday!
Using the same measurements as the main crown, mark the length of this string and cut accordingly. We didn’t want the fake fur effect to be too big, so we made a 5 cm line:

It’s been hard work! Now for the real fun, the shiny bit! Take your favorite jewels and gems from our big bag and attach them to the crown – attach them to each corner of the triangle and you can also add glitter pom-poms at the bottom for more colour.
If you have glitter lying around – you’ll find it’s a basic craft tool – you can add dots or shapes to your crown and sprinkle glitter on glue. It will stick well and you just need to remove the glitter afterward. You can add sequins and whatever else you like – it’s your crown so make it as colorful and artistic as you like.
