We ordered clay diyas online (you can also find them in Indian stores) and used acrylic paint to color the diyas. Once completely dry, add different colors or gems, or use markers to create patterns. Vir loved making them and was very proud to see how they were made.
Besides drawing and painting, we wanted to create some home decorations for our home. I found this cute foam diya craft on Etsy and loved how it turned out.
You can’t imagine Diwali decorations without a candle at home. This cute kit from my etsy store was honestly the perfect craft for me too. I really enjoyed making and decorating the candlestick. Young children should be supervised when using this technique.
Last year we celebrated Diwali in Delhi, India and Vir helped me make a floral rangoli for my in-laws. This year we are also planning to make a floral rangoli and I hope to share it on my Instagram soon.
