When I draw designs, I like to include objects or animals and plants, so if you go out and see, e.g. Be it the shape of leaves and flower petals or whatever shapes feathers take, you can incorporate them into your designs. You can also add these items later as accessories. Feel free to experiment! If you look at my thumbnail at the beginning of the tutorial, you’ll see that the left design is heavily inspired by peacocks.

Before we start making our own clothes, I want to show you how fabrics work on the body.

Fabric is affected by gravity. Whenever you put something on, the fabric pulls. This is very important because it affects the appearance of everything you put into your designs, e.g. frills or ribbons.

As you can see in the picture, the fabric works in two ways. On the one hand, it is pulled by gravity, which you can see in trousers or skirts. However, cloth wraps around the body, and some parts of the body are covered more often than others.

It wraps around the body, forming folds at the knees, ankles or groin.

But since the fabric is loose on the body, these folds follow gravity and fall down.

It is different with hard fabrics. Even though it’s around the knees, crotch and ankles, the pleats don’t go down like they do with looser fabric. Instead, folds are almost horizontal.

Areas such as knees, ankles or elbows are called tension points. When you move your body, these parts create tension on the fabric, which leads to wrinkles. As you can see in the example, the pleats always fall downward from these tension points.

When I draw my designs, I like to use what are called basics. These are pre-drawn bodies and poses. When you use them, you can fully focus on the design without spending time drawing a new body every time.

There are many poses that I have created myself, but if you are not comfortable designing your own bases, you can also use Clip Studi Paint 3D models.

To do this, go to your [Assets], click [3D] and select one of the models you want to use.

These models can then be customized and set to your liking. You can draw your designs directly on top of the pattern or use it as a guide to create the base first.

How To Design A Closet

I see fashion design as something of a mystery. You can mix and match different parts, each time using a different accessory to create something new.

The first thing I do is decide on a rough shape. There are many different patterns you can use for clothing, and each pattern has a different effect. Choosing the right shape will also help show your character’s personality. I always focus on simple patterns to start with. After all the shapes are selected the next steps are to add the details.

You can focus on basic shapes like triangles, squares or circles, or look around in nature.

Then I decide how I want the shirt to look. They can be short or long, and they can be short. Remember we’re going to keep it simple for now! We will add more details later.

There are many different ways to draw ruffled shirts and I always find it very exciting to mix and match these different types of ruffles. Also, you can not only use ruffles for shirts, but also put them on the neckline or seams.

This applies to margins as well. You cannot use different formats and e.g. Keep them asymmetrical, but you can use small and large ruffles to create a really amazing skirt

Now that I have talked a lot about frills and frills, I will briefly introduce you to some ways to draw them.

Ornaments are very easy to draw, however there are different types of ornaments and ways to draw them. Creases usually occur when fabric folds over itself. Layer it to create a frill.

Typically, soft steering wheels look like a line made of alternating m and w. As you’ll see in a second, ornaments are also like u’s and v’s, but let’s focus on that first.

When drawing a line like this, draw vertical lines starting at the corners of the upper m-shaped lines and going up.

After that, repeat this step, but this time start from the lower corners of the w-shaped lines and draw vertical lines upwards until they touch the m-shaped lines.
