Using painter’s tape (Personally, I’ve had the best luck with ScotchBlue Painters tape, but I used what I had around the house for this project.) If the design has intersecting lines The best way to paint is in steps. This way, you can easily apply Frog Tape line by line. Without having to worry about bleeding and errors.
Tape it to the first part of the design. By pressing the tape firmly around the line. You should use your fingers to push along the grooves of the wall structure. If you don’t apply enough pressure and your tape has too many bubbles or gaps, You will notice more bleeding under the tape.
When you’re ready to paint Apply the first coat very thinly. This will help hold the planer tape to the wall and reduce bleeding. Depending on the color contrast between the wall color and the stripe color, 2-3 coats may be required once you’ve applied the final coat. Peel off the tape immediately and allow the paint to dry completely before moving on to the next step.
To create a cross line, use the next length of Frog Tape on the second set of lines. In the area where the lines intersect Lightly sand the edges of the lines. With a fine polishing block to remove any hard edges caused by frog tape. In this way, when you draw the second line It will look like a simple shape.
