Halloween Decorating Ideas For Living Room

Halloween Decorating Ideas For Living Room – My little one turned one on September 8th! Halloween may be 53 days away, but that didn’t stop us from creating a spooky birthday party!

I created my own banner and cake topper and did a little “pumpkin pie” photo shoot in the backyard. I hope these early memories inspire my little bat to love Halloween as much as his mother.

Visit my haunted house this season! I always love to share photos of how I scare up my halls during the season to inspire you and your decor. I have a very small house and sometimes don’t have enough space to store and display my ugly goodies, but I try to make the most of the space I have.

My favorite addition this year is my old potted Halloween tree! I have always wanted to make a tree for Halloween and this year they teamed up with me to make my dream come true for Halloween. I couldn’t be more proud or excited to work with them and how it turned out.

This summer’s Halloween hunt is on – and as you may have noticed, your neighborhood Tuesday morning store is stocking its shelves with spooky delights! I love how each store has its own “theme” or “aesthetic” for Halloween fans to shop in for Halloween in July.

So far, the Tuesday morning theme has been bright, whimsical and fun! Plus, they have lots of little miniatures that will turn any Halloween village into a spooky place.

One of my favorite places to shop for Halloween is Old Time Pottery!!! Unfortunately, this retailer is only available in 11 states and mostly in the US Midwest. If you have such a dealer near you, now is the time to check them out. What I love most about OTP is their wide selection of home decor items at incredible prices. It helps make Halloween shopping guilt-free!

As the Fourth of July draws to a close, the dreaded drizzle begins to fill the shelves! The best retailers to cater to Halloween lovers during the summer months! Keep scrolling if you’d like to shop the shelves virtually at my Tulsa location.

For me September is really just before Halloween. As soon as September 1st arrived I took down all my decor, even though the temperature didn’t seem to drop. I’m excited to see all my Halloween treasures, trinkets, new finds and creations and display them all over the house. I always turn on a Halloween movie when I’m decluttering my boxes, and this year I turned on Monster Squad (definitely a classic!).  I was a bit disappointed when my decoration ended up as I didn’t have enough room to put things (I think I need a bigger house for my Halloween loot!) – anyone else have more decor than a room? I guess this is the problem we Halloween addicts have to deal with. Hope you enjoy these shots of how I decorated the house this year!

I couldn’t resist – I went ahead and added some awesomeness to my home’s entryway. If you’re looking for some inspiration to decorate your little entry, I’d love to share what it looks like.

Earlier this week I picked up a witch’s broom at the Dollar Tree. When I bought them I wasn’t sure what I was going to use them for at first, but today I found the perfect use for them – I put them in large pots in a small autumnal arrangement, sitting on the floor by the front door. .

Halloween Decor Ideas To Try This Spooky Season

I absolutely love Beestle’s vintage Halloween decor and artwork, and I love that you can even order reproductions!

I ordered some Beistle Halloween cutouts from Amazon this summer and have been thinking about how I’m going to incorporate them into my haunted house this fall. It’s officially the fall season, and it’s a great time to start planning your Halloween decorations. I teamed up with Christmas tree shops to start our spooky decor.

We start our fall decorating in mid-September and usually don’t display our spooky stuff until Halloween week. With that in mind, we add a few elements to our Halloween decor each season, and now is the perfect time to get those holiday items in store.

Here we present a spooky bookcase found at affordable prices from thrift stores. I can’t wait to recreate this Halloween week!

The location of the book. I started by selecting the books and arranging them on our shelves. I left a lot of room for creepy stuff. I settled on black, grey, white and orange for the book covers. Tip: If the bindings don’t match your color scheme, turn the books over so that the paper side is visible.

Big pieces first. When adding your decor, I like to start with the big details and then add the smaller pieces. I used pumpkins as a base for larger pieces and lumps. I found these skeleton hands and spiders at the thrift store and they make great cloche fillers. Additionally, I placed skeleton hands under and around the pumpkins for even more spooky fun.

Then the middle parts. I wanted some apothecary jars and CTS has a great collection of them. Large jars with lids are great for the next layer in your cupboards. With fun characters like frog tongues, spider legs, hobgoblin brains and pickled eyebrows, you’d think a witch was around! Small cork top apothecary jars are great for sprinkling on display. Another great addition are the Black Crow figures from CTS. Their wire legs make them easy to attach to the tops of pumpkins. They also have skull vases and candle holders and I added one to our display and filled it with spiders.

Small objects and trinkets. Our spooky shelves are incomplete without webs and cobwebs. CTS has packs of different miniature spiders and I chose the little velvet ones to add to the shelf and cloche filler. I mixed in oddities like horns, lobster claws and broken candles.

Create a lighting effect. CTS already has battery operated strobes in stock. To create a spooky effect at night, I’m going to put them in our Halloween displays. They have controls from silent and slow to fast strobe effects. You can also see a video of it on my Instagram. I like to use them in our outdoor displays with our fog machine on Halloween night.

Table covers. As a family, we choose a cool night a few days before Halloween to carve pumpkins around the campfire. CTS has a line of fall vinyl table covers and I use them on our coffee table so we can all sit by the fire and carve our pumpkins every Halloween.

On chili night and Halloween night I make a big pot of chili for everyone. These cute Snoopy Halloween mugs are the perfect size for serving chili. CTS already has these and the Nightmare Before Christmas mugs in stores.

Mom’s morning cup. My morning sip this Halloween season will be from this Halloween mug. CTS has a range of coffee mugs to choose from to add a bit of Halloween whimsy to your morning sip.

Witch decor. A cinnamon-scented broom is always fun this time of year. CTS currently has lots of cinnamon brooms and a bunch of fall potpourri.

Halloween Glow. These battery-powered jack-o-lantern candles are another great one. When we decorate the house for Halloween week, it’s fun to work on our decorations.
