Animal Crossing New Leaf Design Ideas – This isn’t a typical city post, but I made a grid map of my city a while back and rarely mention it on this blog, so I thought it would be nice to have a post about how my map has changed. over time and how it helps me make decisions about my city. But please don’t read it if this sort of thing doesn’t interest you, heck, it might not interest anyone. xp

This is what my town looked like when I started mapping on day 10 or so, with trees and houses randomly scattered all over the place in their original fixed locations. (And oops, I still haven’t filled all the blue sea areas. 😛 ) I tried to get good at my first few AC:NL posts, but I wasn’t very happy in my city for a while. They stole my city from AC:WW, which I developed and customized a lot, and had pre-defined home areas that made sense for my city layout and the roads I had set up, no rocks coming my way. nerves, etc. Back then in my hometown of AC:NL I didn’t know how I was going to do the methods that would satisfy me with this house listing, it just seemed like a mess. And I was reading stuff on the forums about how everyone hated meandering rivers and straight rivers were the best… I wondered if I could stop for those things. (But in the end, I’m happy to stay with my hometown and get to appreciate my river).

So I started using the map to plan things, not just to record things about my city as it was now. My city – and New Leaf as a whole – was still new to me and I didn’t know what I was doing at first. xP I don’t like these plans and I’m glad I didn’t go with them in the end, but I guess you have to start somewhere else!

Even before Folla Nova came out, I had planned to make my fictitious train station and city hall the “focal points” of my city down to the ground. The train station was pretty easy (I just put a 3×3 font in front of it, which I’m always happy with), but I found it very difficult at first to figure out how to get a good view of the town hall. . I tried a few different things, like metal and a carved font, but they didn’t really satisfy me.

So I really liked the idea of ​​having a lush garden of shrubs, fountains and field in front of the town hall that resembled a traditional French garden. I think it’s really fun to look back at my different plans for this idea! I didn’t know about the rules/limitations of planting bushes at this stage 😆

After exploring those weird and complicated plans for a while, I started having moments where things fit into my plans in a simple, beautiful, organized, and structured way. These were some of my moments of fulfillment, and they didn’t all happen at once:

Instead of trying to force a complicated arrangement of bushes and fountains in front of the town hall, which will never work well because of the stones nearby, why not transfer this landscape idea in front of Estel’s house? (And even after I had that lightbulb moment, it took a lot of trial and error, knocking down bushes and knocking down PWPs before I arrived at the garden design I have today!)

So I thought I would have a comfortable garden in front of Estel’s house, maybe I could extend it to the cliff/waterfall, move Violet’s house (which was near the falls) to another place where the river entrance is near the town tree? This way I can put up a wisteria trellis leading to the door, instead of the backyard like before.

I decided to make the dirt roads on the south side of town straighter instead of twisting, to have room to put more stuff (community houses, PWP, trees and gardens) and make the roads more efficient at the same time.

Instead of having the council road right in front of the gate, clearing the land under the road, I could move the road down, and make some adjustments.

The way This would combine well to create a long, straight, straight path through town (connecting Re-Tail, the train station, and Lyra’s house) – a great, simple, and convenient solution.

Any Ideas On What To Put Around The Paths Instead Of Flowers?

Entering the town hall, I started by placing a bouquet of lilies and flowers in color gradient, because I didn’t know what else to do with the flowers. But I ended up falling in love with it, so it became my permanent council thing 🙂 (Unless I come up with something awesome later, or something).

I decided I didn’t need a coffee at Citalune, so I stopped worrying about how to fit it into my plans. If there was something like a cafe/restaurant style or something, sure, that would be great. But I didn’t think a coffee shop would fit too well in my town, and I didn’t want to use valuable space for a coffee shop that could be used for other things that would be more exciting to me (like a special garden or park in the middle of the river/peninsula).

After much thought, I found out what my neighbors were dreaming of and chose the areas that would suit their home style. Most of them are located along a narrow lane that would otherwise be a waste of time, useless land, and now it’s like a beautiful residential area full of fairy tale style houses, and I love it!

However, to be clear, this is not my final plan for my city. Once I get all my dream neighbors, I can start improving the design of the PWP because I don’t have to worry about the reset strategy anymore. Now most of my street lights are just for home lighting.

A map can also be useful for planning gardens and flower arrangements. Most of the time I don’t feel the need to arrange the flowers on my grid map, but if I want a certain flower arrangement to look great, it’s very useful.

If anyone is able to get past this post, I think the question may have come from how I created the gridmap in the first place, so I’ll go ahead and fix it! Although I did, not how it happened

Step 2:) AC:NL cities are 5 hectares wide and 4 hectares long, each hectare is 16×16 squares. Beginning below the railroad tracks at the corner of the town, and going through the town, I made patterns to show the boundaries of the acres, as follows:

Step 3 🙂 After that, focusing on one hectare at a time, I started recording different features of my city on a blank map: buildings, rocks, water, cliff, etc. distances

Step 4 🙂 I checked everything and saved my map, then took all the patterns. If you’re thinking of doing this, you can always reset without saving after completing your map, so you don’t have to collect patterns like I did. 😛

Well, that’s it for this long technical post. xP I’ve been asked a few times about how I connect my city, or tips for other cities, and I thought it was a good idea to highlight in this post that took a lot of work, time, and trial and error. , that my plans were not decided from the beginning, and had to evolve a lot, a long time passed before I was happy with them.
