When my friend asked for help in designing his apartment and I saw the kitchen, I knew it would be a great opportunity to change my mind! These small kitchens can run big on your budget! When I first looked at this kitchen, the size didn’t really bother me because I was looking at all those cabinets! Lots of storage in a small space!

The first thing on the to-do list is painting the cabinets. It will brighten the space and make it more open.

A nice new light that gives good light when the sun isn’t shining through the window makes the kitchen look great.

We were able to save the original vent and fireplace and it really looks great in the space. Since the cabinets are dark and all the lights are in the room, we thought the cover would be white. I even wipe it clean and it still looks white. That was until everything was painted and when we brought everything back to the kitchen it turned out to be a beautiful bright white! The light made it look beige!

Paint the walls and trim with Sherwin Williams Pure White, and to add some warmth, we added beautiful Roman blinds to the windows.

Outside the small kitchen there is a retro style fridge which is perfect for making use of the space and allowing you to grab a lovely little breakfast before heading to the dining room.

In the lower cabinet, which was added to the previously available space, we installed a waste bin and a drawer box.

To dry the dishes in the sink, we bought a drying rack and kitchen utensils that we can store in the excess cabinets that are available in this kitchen.
