For my family, it was the first time we spent Easter at home. Usually we go to my sister’s house in a rural area outside Daylesford. Central Victoria is picture perfect this time of year, bright with autumn leaves and misty with open fires. Every year we take a walk in the woods (or walk if I’m honest!), have a coffee somewhere and explore the hot Daylesford Flea Market and Treasure. It’s a great place to spend Easter.

But the biggest attraction of our Easter tradition is my sister’s famous Easter Egg Hunt. Aunty Marcie is an Easter story! Every year he creates the perfect cryptic egg hunt. This involves creating small puzzle characters (interspersed with family jokes and references) and then writing each one by hand on a piece of paper. When the children sleep, she hides each clue, including two eggs, in one of the adjacent areas. All this work creates a way to get inside his house and in and out of his walking garden. On Easter Sunday morning, our children woke up eager to leave and follow the signs, They appreciate it – for years this tradition has kept the brothers happy and busy every Easter Sunday morning.

So…I came up with an idea, and I’m sharing the magic of my family’s annual egg hunt here with you. I took the style and style of my sister’s famous Easter egg hunt and made simple signs that can be installed in just 3 rooms of your house: a kitchen, a bedroom and a bathroom.
Hopefully you can adapt it to make your own home for your children. The correct way is to print the pages below (attached as pictures) and then follow the instructions to cut and hide the blank signs around the house like a specified object. Accompany each with a snack (good or not!) if you like.
If you don’t have access to a printer, you can try writing the signs by hand. You can even imagine and access them on your phone while telling the kids they got an email from the Easter Bunny!

Get Ready For Easter With Easter Egg Scavenger Hunt Clues
I started by giving the first clue to my clueless dad and when he fixed them it gave a location where the new clue was waiting for him. You may recognize some of these symbols from my previous treasure hunts when I ‘re-purposed’ some of them and also added some complexities and some puzzles. The first clue is the hardest, but I promise they will be easy.
It’s very easy to do a treasure hunt – all you need is a selection of signs, some good hiding places in the house or garden and buy some cards and envelopes I’ve written the signs but you can my free printable download. All you have to do is print the symbols on a single sheet of paper, cut them out and hide them in the right place!
Clue 1: A famous carpenter was found murdered in his kitchen today. The police narrowed down to six suspects. They know it’s a two-man job. Their names; Felice, Maxwell, Archibald, Nicholas, Jordan and Xavier. Also found with the body: 26 – 3 – 58 / 28 – 27 – 57 – 16. Who are the murderers?
Tip: If you need a token, you can give the recipient a copy of the table where the numbers correspond to the items in the table.

First, download and print the free Christmas treasure hunt tags at the bottom of the page. Then cut out each symbol.
When cutting the symbols, be sure to number them on the back. The order in which they go is top left, top right, then bottom going from left to right. The reason for the calculation is important because of some of the indicators related to the order.
