Calligraphy Design Ideas Letters – I hope you are all enjoying this beautiful season, fall is my favorite time of the year. Somehow, this is when I feel most creative and get my colored pens and painting palettes rolling. I thought I’d share some supplies I’ve been enjoying lately, along with some fall letter inspiration.

My all time favorite pens are the Tambo Double Brush pens. They are just perfect for those juicy kicks and I love the huge range of colors they offer, there is something for everyone.

Another absolute favorite are my Pentel Brush Signature pens. These are great for thin style lettering and can be easy for beginners to work with. I used olive green from their range and wrote this fall card. I used a fine gold pen to draw the leaf elements in the background. A simple but effective idea!

I usually get blank cards from Paper Box, they have a nice variety of different sizes and colors.

Go ahead and add colorful or handmade pumpkins to your Halloween cards, signs or banners. I traced the outline of the pumpkin with a micron pen and colored it with the Scarlet Tambo brush pen (925).

Halloween-themed gift tags can add a special touch to trick-or-treaters, cookies, and small gifts. I love the look of these simple craft tags written in black pen. Try to use short sentences of 1-3 words according to the size of this tag.

11 Simple Hand-lettered Fonts For Your Bullet Journal

Today I wanted to answer the most frequently asked question I get. In my original handwritten post, I shared that the secret to great looking script is to have a slight understroke for each letter… but many of you had trouble deciding where it should be. So, to help you out, I thought I’d create a resource that you can use and refer to as you write.

Before I share it, let me say that I don’t expect you to copy it exactly. Feel free to use your own script and make the letters however you like…it makes your letter yours. The idea here is to show where the weak parts of each letter should be, even if you have a slightly different letter.

Feel free to right-click these images and save them to your computer, screenshot and save them to your phone, and/or print them for reference as you work. You can even print them out and trace them with your own markers to get a feel for it. Use them as you will, they are my gift to you. Also, be sure to check out my other handwriting tutorials including other alphabet styles and fun embellishments.

Another question I get is “What kind of markers should I use?” The short answer is “whatever you have”. Use your Sharpies or whatever is convenient. But if you’re willing to invest in a good tool, I use a Tombo Fodensock soft nib for all my black lettering and a Tombo Double Brush Pen for my colors.
