Because it’s so open.) Most of the time, a couple of chairs are placed next to the fireplace, with small tables and footboards ready for drinks. When the fire starts, you’ll want to be in one of these seats, trust me. But the sofa is far enough away, relatively speaking, that ideally, more than two people can enjoy the fire at the same time.

Whatever While looking for inspiration, I found some cute pictures that might be helpful if you’re in a similar situation.

Obviously, the downstairs room is huge if there is enough space for two beds in the middle. I love it – and I wasn’t always the biggest Miles Redd fan. (Don’t even get me started on the TV in the fireplace. I’m against it, but I understand that sometimes it’s the only option.)

Despite the lack of color palette, I think this room has a successful furniture arrangement. Proof that a partition can be an acceptable option in a room with a corner fireplace.

8 Designer-approved Living Room Layouts With A Fireplace

The first thing you should consider when deciding on a room with a corner fireplace is whether you actually have a fire in it.

Next is how you use the room. If the room is mainly used for reading and games for two, it is better to have only two chairs next to the fireplace. Maybe not a room

Surprisingly, when a room is very small, it is easier to work with a corner fireplace. If I’m a color girl, I think the room below is very comfortable. It is ivory and brown, not chalky white, gray and grey.

The downstairs room doesn’t look great either. I’m confused by the light fixture, but the room looks great.

Don’t miss our ideas, when I had a corner fireplace in my living room, I was at first confused about how to arrange my furniture around it. First, I will not deny that corner fireplaces are not ideal. If I were designing a new building from scratch, I wouldn’t choose that. It really creates barriers that you can’t with a centralized fireplace. That said, good design choices are possible with corner fireplaces. There are also some benefits (believe it or not) that I will talk about below. Here’s a guide to making that corner fireplace work for your living room!

Advantages of Corner Fireplaces (Yes, There Are) 1. A corner fireplace looks attractive and can add character:

If you get the design right, a corner fireplace can look beautiful and amazing. Because they are shorter than central fireplaces, they can be unique architectural elements. Check out these envious English examples below.

How To Arrange A Living Room With A Fireplace

A fireplace can sometimes give a room a formal feel. Or, should I say, people think it should be. Here’s a fun fact: aside from kitchen cabinets, the fireplace is the feature of the home that I get the most questions about how to fix it. When people ask me for advice about their fireplaces, it’s often “is it dated,” “can I paint it?” or “Should I rip it out and start over?”

My answers to these are always for that! However, not everyone has the time and budget for this. If it’s a fireplace in the corner rather than the focal point of the room, it can take the pressure off to match your style perfectly.

An interior designer will probably tell you not to place your TV near your fireplace. Now, I’ve broken this rule a few times (so have many famous designers), but I understand why. Unless you have a Samsung Frame TV or are trying to hack a TV like I did, they are not a good starting point! Having an off-center fireplace makes it easy to place your TV on a nice media console table.

Floor Plan & Layout Ideas For A Living Room With A Corner Fireplace

Imagine the grand fireplace of your dreams. Does it have a wooden handle? oven? beautiful Now imagine you don’t live in a big house. You live in an average house like everyone else. You will see your kids running around this room and running over the fireplace.. It should be noted that large fireplaces do not work for the modest space of most rooms. Also, if your living room is more of a family/TV room, placing a fireplace next to it will create more floor space.

In this beautifully designed park and oak living room, the fireplace is the main feature of the room and takes up a lot of space.

Now let’s talk about ways to make that corner fireplace work and avoid an awkward layout! In general, the best way to arrange furniture around a corner fireplace is to… ignore it. My point is, don’t direct your furniture towards it and treat it as a beautiful design

Arrangement of furniture, to order the best arrangement of furniture is different. It also helps if it’s not your preferred TV viewing room – it allows for more layout options to choose from.

Tips For Arranging A Living Room With An Angled Fireplace

The best furniture layout is different for every room. Different rooms have different obstacles to work with – a kitchen area in one room, a large window that takes up an entire wall, an already cramped room layout, etc.

Ah, the open floor plan is one of my puzzles. My entire floor is in a big L shape, with the living area and fireplace in the middle

In this case from that L shape, you definitely need to define the separate areas of the room. The main sofa should face the kitchen, sinking the space and turning the rest of the room into a family room / living room / fireplace.

For my living room, I chose an L-shaped sectional, with the end of the sectional sitting a few feet in front of the fireplace. Make sure there is always enough space for traffic to move. An open concept layout becomes more difficult when determining traffic flow because you’re moving in different directions!

With a corner fireplace in an open-plan living space, the best option is to place your sofa against a flat wall, place your TV against that wall, and let the back of the sofa act as a room divider.

If you have a very small living space with a fireplace in one corner, you might consider mounting your TV above the fireplace mantle instead of taking up another wall for a console table or entertainment center. This way, you can add extra seating. Here, instead of using your furniture as a secondary focal point, like you would in your main TV room, direct your furniture towards the fireplace.

How To Design Around A Corner Fireplace

Have a TV in something like a formal sitting room, then you have a lot of options because the view from every seating area is irrelevant. You can arrange the furniture to emphasize the shape of the room or its purpose. For example, two sofas can be placed directly next to each other, creating space for conversation, relaxation, study, etc. – whatever you want. Meanwhile, the fireplace calms the atmosphere!

Fireplace as focal point. We have wood as a decorative piece and wood tones to match the mantle. Windows are on each side of the fireplace. But note that there is no TV in the living room, that would definitely make the furniture arrangement puzzle easier!

Depending on how large the room is, you can take this opportunity to create an intimate seating area around the fireplace with additional chairs. Then create another seating area, including a sofa, to center around your TV.

Corner Fireplace Ideas

In short, a corner fireplace can be a primary or secondary focal point. It all depends on the main purpose of the room (TV family room, formal room, etc.) and its size and layout.
