Hello folks! We are currently in the process of remodeling our 1891 master bedroom and bathroom. It was a lot of work demoing the space and getting it ready for modernization, but I’m very excited about the space we’re building. When we bought our 1891 home, I knew it needed a clawfoot tub. After our renovation, it was important to me to maintain the cozy feel of our 1950s home. With this in mind, I planned our master bathroom with a clawfoot tub and cute vintage-style hexagon tiles with a daisy pattern. I bathe every day. I prefer showering, so a good bathtub was important for both looks and utility. You can see from the fittings that we also use this tub for showering! There was no space to separate them and this solution works well. We asked them to paint the outside and legs matte black. I love how it turned out!!! A few people have written to me saying that a cast iron tub cools down quickly. I did a lot of research and found that this can happen with older cast iron tubs. I am happy to report that our cast iron bathtub is not cold and retains heat perfectly!
