You can follow my guide and make this origami hummingbird or you can choose any shape you like, maybe an origami crane?
And you don’t have to worry about the thickness of the book cover, because mine is thick, and with the simple help of a push, you can easily make small holes in the cover.
– Prepare your book. Determine the location of the origami bird and place a piece of cardboard between the cover and the front page, protecting the sides.
– Download and print the template for free. Or copy the drawing on a piece of paper in the desired size.

* You can use a piece of masking tape to secure the base for the next step
– Use your pushpin to make holes in the shell. Repeat the holes according to the points on the whole base.
– Remove the model from the cover. Check if you missed some holes and try to see if there are enough holes for your needle to go all the way through.
– Start sewing by tying a knot in the thread and joining the holes. Hold the model close.
