I wrote a letter in black pen on the Spoottacular card below. I used the letters for the brush and went to great lengths to paint simple shapes in the background. This would be a great card for late October birthdays.

Calligraphy: How To Write Calligraphy

Another favorite of mine is the Pentel Brush Sign Pens. They are great for thin typefaces and easy for beginners. I used Olive Green from their range and recorded this autumnal card. I used a gold pen to draw the leaves in the background. A simple yet effective look.

I usually get blank paper cards and they come in many sizes and colors.

Your Halloween cards; Try adding inked or hand-drawn pumpkins to signs or posters. I used the Micron Pen to outline the pumpkins and colored them with the Scarlet Tombow Brush Pen (925).

Yesterday, while I was planning an old calligraphy masterpiece, I had a scene. As I practiced calligraphy, I realized there were things I didn’t do when I first started. I had no idea they were so important. I know it’s hard to find time to practice calligraphy; Therefore, it is important to make the most of it.

Going from 55 to 100 will not be good for you when you are practicing calligraphy. This advice may seem obvious, but it certainly wasn’t when I first started. He taught me calligraphy. I think you can learn quickly in a short period of time. I was wrong!

It wasn’t until I took calligraphy classes that I learned the importance of taking it slow when practicing calligraphy. This tip alone helped me improve my calligraphy instantly.

Slowing down will help you achieve better letterforms and sharper strokes. I’m still going slowly. Calligraphy is not meant to be fast. Spend time practicing calligraphy. I like to think of it as a leisure activity where I take time to practice my calligraphy skills.

This is accompanied by a slow pace in practicing calligraphy. Pausing between calls helps you declutter your messages. This allows you to focus better on letter patterns, which strengthens muscle memory.

It is very important to find a comfortable position when practicing calligraphy. Make sure your table or desk is not too low or too high, and aim straight back.

Find a comfortable position and relax. If you exercise for a long time and then rest, don’t go for more than an hour. The break should not be too long. A shower or a quick stretch can help. Exercising without a long period of rest isn’t as beneficial as you might think.

Putting a date on an exercise sheet may seem trivial. I know we will be forgotten. At first, I didn’t realize how important scheduling was at my job. But I’m telling you, it’s a great way to see your progress.

Return to your old page often. Especially when you fall into the comparison trap. Or when you think your calligraphy isn’t improving on your journey. We are our own worst critics. No matter how small we are, We often forget to celebrate our successes.

Modern Calligraphy 101 For Beginners

Whenever you feel your calligraphy is not improving, go back and revisit your initial work. I promise you, You will see some improvements.

You’ll want to kick yourself if you see a workout page that doesn’t currently mention it. When that happens, go to Instagram and see if you can find a post related to that practice page. You can find it there most of the time. This is one of the reasons I am glad to open an account to share my calligraphy work. I can go back to my old posts and see how I’ve progressed over the years.

I know sometimes it’s boring to keep all these papers. But you don’t have to keep everything; These are just a few important parts for reference. For assignments or practice papers that have been decided to be discarded; Usually a photo is taken and stored in a folder on the computer.

When I got the courage to share my work with the world, I started posting it on Instagram. I created a separate account from my personal account so I wouldn’t bore my calligraphy-loving friends and family. I suggest you do the same. Even if the account is private, it’s good to have your work history. Having your own social media account gives you a place to share your work. It can even serve as a portfolio later on.
