When adding information to your slides, remember less is more! Keep only the key points in the slideshow. Your audience should be listening to you, not reading your slides all the time. Serif fonts (Times New Roman, Garamond, Bookman) are best for printed pages, while sans-serif fonts (Helvetica, Tahoma, Verdana) are easier to read on a screen. For more fonts than what PowerPoint offers, check out Google Fonts, Urban Fonts, and Squirrel Fonts to download free fonts and embed them into PowerPoint.
When adding fonts to PowerPoint, make sure your settings allow font embedding. If this setting is not selected, the PowerPoint layout may be broken when sharing slides. To enable font embedding, go to File, Options, General, Save Selection, then scroll down to select Allow font embedding.
Find the perfect balance of text by adding different graphics to provide visual representation on the slide. Insert an image or icon directly from PowerPoint, search Google for Creative Commons-licensed images, or use free stock image sites to find the perfect image for your message. Sites like Pexels, Pixabay, and Unsplash offer completely free, copyright-free images. Search their website for images, download and insert them into your PowerPoint.
