The holiday season calls for handmade cards, especially in this year and age. That’s why I decided to make this DIY calligraphy Christmas card.

Draw a triangle in the center of the card with a pencil. This triangle is to give you an idea of where to draw the banner.
Once you’ve created the triangle and are happy with the layout, erase it a bit. You want a very simple symbol on the triangle.
Now that you know where the banner will go, draw a continuous “S” to draw the banner. The triangle will help us determine the width of the banner.
Before you start drawing the banner, make sure it is long enough for the holiday phrase you want to write on the banner.

On this card I will write “enjoy everything and be happy always”. So the length of this banner is perfect for this quote.
Make any necessary changes to the banner. We recommend that before you start writing your banner, make sure you align the ends and sides of your banner.
Draw a V shape on both ends of the banner to close it. Then join two continuous ‘S’ shapes at the end on both sides.
Trace the banner image using a Micron 05 pen or you can use any black monoline pen of your choice. Once you’re done creating your banner image, erase the pencil marks.

I used my Micron 08 and went over the tape again to make it look a little better.
To make the banner even more beautiful, you can add details to the back of the banner where calligraphic text cannot be.
I added rows that are too close together. You can choose to paint different details or colors in detail like I did for this DIY Father’s Day card.
As I said before, inside the banner I write “enjoy everything and be happy always”. Feel free to write your favorite holiday quote on this card.
