Card Design Ideas Handmade Birthday – I managed to make all my videos yesterday. Also working on my Facebook Live idea. I still mastered it, so I decided to do something else. I’ve been working on it but haven’t finished it yet. I will finish it today and post it in the group.
4 more days until Exclusively Cards goes live! I shared a card with a card using the Butterfly Gala kit. Since this pack is not currently available to order, I am using the same layout as the other 2 packs to show how versatile this tutorial is. Here is a card using the Lemon Zest stamp set.
Card Design Ideas Handmade Birthday
Today I have a beautiful lady’s birthday card. I used the Beautiful Bouquet stamp set. I stamped 3 different flowers on a 1 inch square. Next I added the stems. The Flirty Flamingo panel has been added to the Night of Navy card base. I used a Twinkle, Twinkle dsp layer on the left side of the panel. This is used to remove flower beds. I cut a piece of Whisper White 3/4 x 3 inches. The sentiment is stamped using Night of Navy on the left side of the band. The flowers used on the 1 inch square were added to the right side of the strip. This layer is added to the bottom of the card base. I then centered the 3 flower squares on Twinkle, Twinkle designer series paper, centering them from top to bottom. I added some candy dots to the top right corner to finish off the card. Here are ready made Creative Handmade Birthday Card Ideas.

First, use your water brush. Squeeze a little so that some water comes out. Then paint with water to make a circle.
Then take one of the water-based markers and apply it to the part you drew with water. This is how we will create a watercolor effect with markers and water brushes.

If you see that the color is not bright enough, take your pen and paint again.
Use a paper towel or cloth to clean the watercolor brush so it doesn’t get into the next watercolor background.
To speed up the drying process is to take a cloth and soak it to remove excess water.
Repeat the above steps with whatever markers you want for the watercolor background. I did three different colors because I will cover them with balloons in the next step.

Draw a rectangle using a black marker and color it inside. This is where our happy birthday letters will be.
Make sure the rectangle is large enough to fit the letters. And if you want to add a longer message, you can also draw more rectangles.
Once the watercolor background was completely dry, I used a Pigeon Letters Mono-line 03 pen to draw the balloons.
Using your best lettering, write “Happy Birthday” inside the black rectangle we drew earlier. I chose to write “Happy Birthday” in large letters using Craftsmart Extra Fine Oil Markers, but you can use any white gel pen or highlighter with a rectangle on the back.

You can leave the card as is or add some embellishments to make it pop. I decided to doodle stars and dots around the card.
I love how easy this machine is to make and how beautiful it is. What do you think?

Handmade Greeting Card Latest Design
As I flip through my folders, I see that a sketch sparks an idea or reminds me of a pencil that can achieve the same effect. I very rarely follow a card sketch completely.
My method starts with a pad of paper. these are usually 6″ x 6″ or 6″ x 8″ pads.
First, I tore out all the pages, laying them on the table. Since there are usually two of each design with an alternate design on the back, I put the two together. Each side of the paper together.
This works well for some pads like the pad from Echo Park. One side of the paper is busy, while the other complements it with a more subtle pattern.
Handmade Cards Ideas
I strongly believe in NOT reinventing the wheel. Deck designers work hard to make sure all patterns match, so let’s go to the trouble of making cards using their suggestions.
When using a cushion like this, I use a subtle design as the bottom layer and a busy design on top.
I cut my base strips from plain colored card to match the color of the paper box, always the same size as the card base.
Next I organized all the pieces of ephemera, put them in groups – all the sentiments together, all the pictures together, etc.
Balloon Birthday Card
The first card is always the hardest, but once you get into the flow, it just seems to roll.
I created the card on the base layer. Leave the final gluing to the card base until last.
With the table clean, I then added the card front to my card base. When I need a quick birthday card, I use pre-cut cards and score cards.
And for the landscape side-fold cards, I used blank cards and Tonic Studios envelopes. The quality of this card pack is amazing. I wait until they run out before restocking my stock.

Once everything came together, I put it back on the table and added a little sparkle with the Nuvo Aqua Shimmer Pen and Nuvo Crystal Glaze. I prefer Crystal Glaze over glitter highlights; that’s what works for me.
I try to use the sentiments provided in the ephemera packs, but they don’t always fit your design or what you want to say.
So for speed and efficiency I use pre-made stickers. I used Tim Holtz’s Sentiment Label Stickers for this card.
