Christmas Decoration Ideas For Living Room

Christmas Decoration Ideas For Living Room – Today’s post features a lovely neutral French farmhouse Christmas decor in the family room. Whites and silvers, along with natural elements such as pine cones and dried oranges, create a simple yet elegant celebration with a nod to European Christmases of the past.

Yesterday I shared my neutral French Christmas living room and now I’m continuing my holiday decorating in the family room! We kept many of the same elements, such as the neutrals of white and silver. But I also added some European touches like dried oranges and I love the simplicity that the touches of nature create.

The tree is decorated similarly to the living room tree to maintain some continuity between the two spaces. I used lots of silver mercury glass ornaments and pine cones with a few pops of white. Again, I left out the garland to keep it simple.

The straw collar is a new addition and I love that it’s more casual than a skirt as well as the texture it adds!

On my miniature tabletop Noble, I added a simple dried orange garland to the twinkling lights. This is something I’ve wanted to do for years

I dried the oranges myself and tied them with fishing line. But they are cheap enough to buy if you want the look but not the hassle!

The dough bowl is something I saw on Pinterest a few years ago and have wanted to try to recreate ever since. I love my dough bowl and I haven’t used it in a while and I do

To create the centerpiece, I added a plate to the inside of the dough bowl so the candles would sit a little higher and give them stability and a flat surface. Then I just added moss and voila! A beautiful centerpiece that would look equally good on a table or as a centerpiece in a tablescape!

I have quite a few and every year I use them in different ways. This year I’m just sprinkling one or two in each room, but in the past I’ve grouped them together for a bigger statement.

Some greenery and pinecones in a silver bowl, along with more greenery in a French urn accessorize a side table.

This year’s neutral and natural French farmhouse-inspired Christmas decor is festive and calm at the same time, which is exactly what we wanted.

I got most of what I used below, and where I couldn’t find the exact same item, I linked very similar options!

Our Christmas “on the farm” tour is inspired by simple and beautiful holiday decorations. The friends that come with me all have slightly different styles, but they all have a bit of that farmhouse influence and they’re all beautiful!

Thanks to raymourflanigan.com for sponsoring this post. All opinions are 100% honest and entirely my own.

I love to splurge at Christmas, but having a small 2 bedroom ranch style home didn’t always allow for that. The rooms were very separate and not great for entertaining or decorating. So halfway through the open renovation, I stop to embrace all the progress I’ve made and embrace it for Christmas.

It’s not about the size of your house, it’s about how you use the space. By removing a wall and creating an open plan living, dining and kitchen area, we created a more functional home.

Raymour and Flanigan have delivered the furniture, the Christmas trees are up and it’s time to show you around a big Christmas house in a tiny house!

To make this space truly functional, it was all about the size of the furniture. Even though everything is open, it’s still comfortable, a nice way of saying small. I started by realizing the need for a smaller section. I was looking for grays with more modern, clean lines that wouldn’t exceed the width of my window. This would allow more room for a table, which I could not have until now.

The Daine 3 piece section is perfect. To be honest, I think when I walked into the store it was the buffalo pillows that drew me to it. There are so many configurations to choose from that I was able to find one that worked perfectly. I love the back on this couch, which I never thought of before. It makes the room feel less cluttered with furniture.

The whole intention behind the renovation was to create a space where I could comfortably entertain. When choosing a dining set I knew that in order to entertain and be functional for the space I needed a smaller table with an extension. The Aberdeen 7 Piece Dining Set is perfect. It has a farmhouse feel to match the existing furniture and had the option of an 18 inch extension leaf.

For everyday use I set it to 4 and when company comes I will add the sheet and the two extra seats. Now the seats are my favorite part. They don’t match the table they look neat on. The padded seat offers comfort that invites your guest to stay longer.

Raymour and Flanigan made it easy to choose furniture in my style while staying on budget.

Now it is always said that you live in your home, know the space and then start planning renovations and buying new furniture that suits your needs. and houses. Well, it’s been 4 years and I know I live alone, I spend a lot of time on the couch. It can function as a sofa, but also as an office and a dining room (who don’t eat on their sofa).

When I laid eyes on the Dawson cocktail table, it was love at first sight. It is every girl’s dream. The coffee table rises to the height of the table, which allows it to function in many more ways than just a regular coffee table. Did I also mention it has tons of storage?

I love gray if I could paint every room with cotton gray. I planned my entire color palette for the room and the furniture around it. A cool neutral color palette with a more traditional rug to add some softness to the space.

If you’ve been around for a while, you’ll know that I have a strong affinity for buffalo. Can you tell from my Christmas decoration or my chair with a Daine accent? When I told people I wanted to make a buffalo accent chair, there were mixed opinions. That the trend was on its way or I would regret it in a few years. If you really love something, embrace it. Also, in my opinion, plaid is pretty timeless, but I might not be biased.

So we talked a lot about the furniture and setting up the space. How about decorating for Christmas in a tiny house? Here are some of the tips and tricks that have worked for me over the past 4 Christmases.

If you want two firs, get two firs and make room. This year, because I chose a smaller section, I was able to put my buffalo Christmas tree next to the sofa and put my new lead tree in the corner.

Now I’ve always dreamed of having a house full of Christmas trees and every time I walk into the new open concept I can’t help but smile. It’s like this weird and strange dream happened in my little house.

Now don’t let these pictures fool you, we are still in full kitchen remodel mode. In fact, we still need to add recessed lighting and a chandelier over the dining room table. Not to mention the backsplash tiles, drywall, windows, crown molding and more I can’t even think of. But I’m so proud of this space that I couldn’t keep it to myself any longer.

You just have to see it twice. Once with Christmas decorations and then again with a kitchen. Notice anything different in the image below? Maybe we deviated from the original plan and added a peninsula! It might just be my favorite part of the whole renovation. Well, except for the floors. Did you notice the floors?!

Because I love working with Raymour and Flanigan. They will always have a soft spot in my heart. We have done so many projects together. Included are two Habitat for Humanity homes and the Amo’s House project. Their philanthropy in the community really makes an impact.

A huge thanks to my dad who always thinks I have crazy ideas but will bring the sledgehammer and help me make my dreams come true at home.
