Cute Card Design Ideas – Hello crafty friends! Leica writes about this in the Spellbinders blog. Today I want to share with you three cards I made with Carissa Wiley’s new collection – It’s My Party. I love this collection because I always need birthday cards to send to family and friends.

For my first card I created a shaker card using a Giant Party Balloon. I used pastel pink hot foil on sand pink Essentials cards to heat up the balloon. To make a fun background for the balloon shaker, I hot stamped a Starburst Glimmer hot foil plate in mint pastel. Then I die cut the Happy Birthday and cut it with the matching die. I filled the shaker with colorful glitter for a fun and festive touch. Finally, I attached the balloon stirrer to a paper panel made from alabaster cardstock and glued it to a white A2 paper base. To add sparkle, I sprinkled some glitter here and there.

Moving on to my second paper, I stamped the Party Balloon Garland Clear Stamp Set in Gold on Alabaster Paper. Next I used Distress Oxide Ink Dried Marigold, Kitsch Flamingo, Spun Sugar and Twisted Citron to ink the balloon garland and the Sentiments stencil. It made a colorful and playful background for my card. I also took one of the sentiments from the It’s My Party Glimmer Sentiments collection and die cut it with a matching one. I added foam tape to the sentiment and placed it in the center of the card to give it dimension. To finish off the look, I used the Party Balloons Bouquet Glimmer Hot Foil Plate in Pastel Pink to create a bow that I attached to the bottom left of the card. Finally, I glued the paper panel onto a white A2 paper base.

For my last card I used the Party Balloons Bouquet Foil Hot Glimmer plate as the focal point. I hot foiled three balloons onto white cardstock and used a coordinating die to cut them out. To create the balloon art, I used Distress Oxide Inks in Dried Calendula, Kitschy Flamingo, Lawn Mower, Powdered Sugar and Squeezed Lemonade along with the Balloon Bouquet Design Stencils. I attached the balloons with foam tape to a small panel of Pink Sand cardstock. So, I adhered this to alabaster cardstock that I ran through the machine using the Optical Arches embossing folder. For added sparkle and interest, I added some fun sparkles here and there.
