Nell Hill’s visual directors, Marsee and Becky, chose this beautiful buffet to use as the stage for our summer show because it is such a stunning piece. Tall and sturdy with nice, clean lines, it adds strength to the space but is low enough that it doesn’t draw attention from the pieces we place on top of it.

When decorating your home kitchen, start by looking at what’s on the back wall. Make sure the size of your artwork matches the size of the buffet. That said, we chose a large oil painting to balance this important piece. Next, we placed equal, but not identical, amounts of artwork on both sides of the painting for a nice symmetrical look.

One of my favorite ways when creating a buffet is to pair the display with matching lights. Also, choose lights that fit the size of your buffet. For this high-end piece, a sparse and skimpy lighting duo won’t do. But Becky and Marsee saw these white candlesticks. With their modern, natural materials, traditional color palette and traditional shades, these classic lamps can complement any decor and look great with our old world buffet.
To create a light, summery look on our model, our visual team put together a fantastic mix of clear glass pieces to use as the base of the show. In the summer I often decorate with clear glass because it is refreshing, clean and bright.
The secret to creating a good presentation on your desk (or any desk) is to choose sounds that provide a variety of information. While we used all the same types of pieces for this example, namely clear glass, we put a twist on it by mixing pieces with different heights and shapes.
Search your china and glassware for interesting glassware, such as decanters, martini glasses, goblets, goblets and coasters that we used for our presentation. Notice how Becky and Marsee arrange the pieces like a sideways pyramid, with the taller pieces in the back and center and the smaller pieces on the sides and front.
35 Formal Dining Room Ideas That Deliver Drama And Elegance
If you want a simple look for your buffet or if you don’t have much time to decorate it, stop here. I like the fact that it doesn’t have a mirror. But if you want to add something interesting, intertwine some seasonal tones.
We love using fruits and vegetables in our seasonal decor at Nell Hill’s. So Marsee (left) and Becky (right) brought bags of citrus to add a colorful touch to our table. Not only do lemons and limes scream summer, they also pick up the green and yellow in the paint behind the buffet.
If you use really fresh fruit, check the mixture often to eliminate any parts that are starting to rot. I learned this lesson the hard way at home. Once, when I was decorating for fall, I placed some ripe red pears in my living room sconces and promptly forgot about them. That is, until I sat with a friend in my living room and looked at her head, to my horror, realizing that the pears were rotten in a mold. Now, I often choose fake eggs, which confuses Dan. At one point he passed by a fruit bowl full of (fake) vegetables and grabbed one to eat. Imagine his surprise when he bit into the fake fruit!
That’s all! It’s the one thing that makes this a creative show that truly compliments serious, beautiful cuisine. You can choose to keep this look all summer, then redo it in the fall using heavier layers. Or you can leave the glass base on all year and only change the seasonal values you enter in the boxes. For autumn you can add red apples or pumpkins. This holiday season, try Christmas tree decorations. In spring, add one or two strong bulbs to the foot cups.

Then, when you’re entertaining, remove seasonal decorations and use glassware to serve food in style. For a cocktail party, fill various containers with garnishes, such as sliced lemons or olives. If you are hosting a dinner party, use this display stand to display desserts or desserts.
I also wanted to show you a different approach to our group visual buffets at Briarcliff in Nell Hill. We anchor this display with matching blue and white ceramic lamps. So, all we did was place a French food centerpiece in the center, complete with vase, photos and fresh flowers. You can also use this unique piece of cake to display food while entertaining. I have a food processor like this on my kitchen island and I have a freezer and a seasonal freezer. In fact, I love this piece so much that I remade it as part of my signature Mary Carol Home Collection line. It’s very affordable and sells like hotcakes – check it out at Nell Hill’s Online or in stores.
To give your dish a unique look, try using a large floral arrangement as a focal point. Here we create a wild and wonderful composition in a jar of olive oil. We threw in an interesting accent lamp, some books, and a photo and called it good.

I found these best examples of buffet style. I love using a tray, you can store a small tray on it if you don’t have room for a car or, like me, a collection of serving pieces. Additionally, most dining rooms have several types of lamps, or chandeliers. I like to add a table lamp to the table (or car) in the dining room, because sometimes you’re at home and want a slightly glamorous lamp in the dining room but it doesn’t have to be a chandelier. So always remember to find a place for a nice table lamp. Finally, it is important to play with different heights. This goes for any type of table, you can see how these great designers did it below.

This option combines beautiful greenery and flowers using natural tones and pieces I have. In my opinion, the main reasons are more realistic. I have some candles and a Tuscan vase. As much as you can
